Marshall´s review of how the world elite has grasped still more power over the last 20 years. The development is controlled by the Rockefeller , Carnegie, Ford Foundations, etc., which have powerful tools in their clubs, Universities, international political organizations like the G20, G8, G5, the European Union. Now Gordon Brown is calling for a World Bank and world governance. Council on Foreign Relations believes that nation states will be dissolved in the “world governance”: individual state elements: courts, regulatory agencies, corporate executives and even legislatures are in a network with their colleagues around the world, creating a dense network of relations that constitutes a new transgovernmental policy. It is the most widely used and effective way for transnational governance. Under the world governance, transnational  classes of society are being restructured: the international elite, 6000 in the super class, is stateless, working across the borders. Through debt bondage it is actively eliminating the middle class, which is being converted into a trans-national working class, which will be more or less starved to death. The transnational elite has formed a network of trans-national states that have offered parts of their sovereignty to supranational governance bodies. National State has played its role, and in this century it will disappear – there will be a global government– ruling the whole world, says the Council on Foreign Relations. Thus, “World Governance” is more insidious, more sneaking betrayal than the UNs visible world government. We have seen that the New World Order Club of Rome has described the New World Order as a world communist dictatorial one world state. This is an excerpt of Andrew Marshall´s monography on the New World order – here about the ruling class. First the author reviews the regional building blocks: The EU/Union for the Mediterranean), the NAFTA/emerging North American Union, the ASEAN, Africa and South America of which the world state is to be built. Conquest of Central Asia is ongoing – endangering world peace in a planned war with Russia (Die Welt 10 May 2009).  For, as Obama´s mentor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, said: “We cannot leap into world government through one quick step…. The precondition for eventual and genuine globalization is progressive regionalization because by that we move toward larger, more stable, more cooperative units.” 
This is a form of Socialism known as fascism, and it will be the type of world government the power elite plans ultimately to bring about and control. In this government, the power elite will control politicians who will become government leaders who will promulgate laws, rules and regulations favorable to certain transnational corporations.”

How the transgovernmentalist class managed to take power of the world

Kloden-i NVOs-håndAndrew Gavin Marshall, Global Research 13 Aug. 2009:The economic foundations of the current crisis were laid in the “Clinton globalist project.” As Bello explained, “The administration embraced globalisation as its ‘Grand Strategy’—that is, its fundamental foreign policy posture towards the world.” Further, “The dominant position of the USA allowed the liberal faction of the US capitalist class to act as a leading edge of a transnational ruling elite in the process of formation—a transnational elite alliance that could act to promote the comprehensive interest of the international capitalist class.”[75]Out of the ashes of the financial crisis, a new world order will emerge in constructing a global government.

In October of 2008, Gordon Brown said that we “must have a new Bretton Woods – building a new international financial architecture for the years ahead.” An article in the Telegraph reported that Gordon Brown would want “to see the IMF reformed to become a ‘global central bank’ closely monitoring the international economy and financial system.”[88] In an op-ed for the Washington Post, Gordon Brown wrote that the “new Bretton Woods” should build upon the concept of  “global governance.”[89] He also calls for a “global economic policeman,” perhaps in the form of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).[90] In November of 2008, it was reported that Baron David de Rothschild “shares most people’s view that there is a new world order. In his opinion, banks will deleverage and there will be a new form of global governance.”[91]

In a 1997 article of Foreign Affairs, the journal of the Council on Foreign Relations, Anne-Marie Slaughter discussed the theoretical foundations of the New World Order and explained the emergence of what she called a “new medievalism” as opposed to liberal internationalism. “Where liberal internationalists see a need for international rules and institutions to solve states’ problems, the new medievalists proclaim the end of the nation-state,” where “The result is not world government, but global governance. If government denotes the formal exercise of power by established institutions, governance denotes cooperative problem- solving by a changing and often uncertain cast.”[27]

Slaughter states that, “The state is not disappearing, it is disaggregating into its separate, functionally distinct parts. These parts—courts, regulatory agencies, executives, and even legislatures—are networking with their counterparts abroad, creating a dense web of relations that constitutes a new, transgovernmental order,” and that, “transgovernmentalism is rapidly becoming the most widespread and effective mode of international governance.”[28] Slaughter was Dean of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University from 2002-2009, is currently Director of Policy Planning for the United States Department of State, and has previously served on the board of the Council on Foreign Relations.

In the past few decades, a concurrent class restructuring has been taking place, in which the middle classes of the world descend into debt bondage while the upper classes have begun a process of transnationalizing. What we have witnessed and are witnessing with recent events, is the transnationalization of class structures, and with that, labour forces.

What connects the ruling elite?
The transnational  ruling elite is stateless.
The international system exists only as an intersubjective awareness among people; in that sense the system is constituted by ideas, not by material forces. It is a set of ideas, a body of thought, a system of norms, which has been arranged by certain people at a particular time and place.
A Transnational Capitalist Class (TCC) has emerged, and is a global ruling class. It is a ruling class because it controls the levers of an emergent transnational state apparatus and of global decision making.”[32] This class has no borders, and is composed of the technocratic, media, corporate, banking, social and political elite of the world.

“States could decide “to reduce their sovereignty or even to give up their sovereignty. If that happened there would no longer be an international anarchy as we know it. Instead, there would be a brave new, non-anarchical world – perhaps one in which states were subordinate to a world government.”[33] 

 there is also a rise in the apparatus of a Transnational State (TNS), which is “an emerging network that comprises transformed and externally integrated national states, together with the supranational economic and political forums; it has not yet acquired any centralized institutional form.”[34] Among the economic apparatus of the TNS we see the IMF, World Bank, WTO and regional banks. On the political side we see the Group of 7, Group of 22, United Nations, OECD, and the European Union. This was further accelerated with the Trilateral Commission, “which brought together transnationalized fractions of the business, political, and intellectual elite in North America, Europe, and Japan.” Further, the World Economic Forum has made up an important part of this class, and, I might add, the Bilderberg Group.

The TNS apparatus has been a vital principle of organization and socialization for the transnational class, “as have world class universities, transnationally oriented think tanks, the leading bourgeois foundations, such as Harvard’s School of International Business, the Ford [and Rockefeller] and the Carnegie Foundations, [and] policy planning groups such as the Council on Foreign Relations.” These “elite planning groups are important forums for integrating class groups, developing new initiatives, collective strategies, policies and projects of class rule, and forging consensus and a political culture around these projects.”[36]

Robinson and Harris identify the World Economic Forum as “the most comprehensive transnational planning body of the TCC and the quintessential example of a truly global network binding together the TCC in a transnational civil society.”[37]

I would take issue with this, and instead propose the Bilderberg Group. Kissinger-order-chaosBilderberg is simply the most influential planning body, sitting atop a grand hierarchy of various planning bodies and institutions, and is itself a key part of the apparatus of the formation of a Transnational State, but is not a “world government.” It is a global think tank.
The economic crisis is perhaps the greatest “opportunity” ever given to the TCC in re-shaping the world order according to their designs, ideals and goals.

To achieve these ends, however, all classes must be transnationalized, not simply the ruling class. Now that there is an established “Superclass” of a transnational composition, the other classes must follow suit. The middle class is targeted for elimination in this sense, because most of the world has no middle class, and to fully integrate and internationalize a middle class, this would require industrialization and development in places such as Africa, and would represent a massive threat to the Superclass, as it would be a valve through which much of their wealth and power would escape them. Their goal is not to lose their wealth and power to a transnational middle class, but rather to extinguish the notion of a middle class, and transnationalize a lower, uneducated, labour oriented class, through which they will secure ultimate wealth and power.

The economic crisis serves these ends, the lower classes of the world, poverty-stricken even prior to the crisis, will suffer the greatest, most probably leading to a massive reduction in population levels, particularly in the “Third World” states.

The TCC or Superclass (Rothkopf estimates the number at 6,000 individuals within the ruling class), ….is not immune to such drastic and rapid changes itself.

Each world war inspired the creation of an international organization, the League of Nations in the 1920s and the United Nations in the ’40s.The European Community pioneer the kind of regional cohesion that may pave the way for globalism. The best mechanism for democracy, whether at the level of the multinational state or that of the planet as a whole, is  a federation, a union of separate states that allocate certain powers to a central government while retaining many others for themselves.”[56]

In a 2001 issue of Foreign Affairs, Richard Falk and Andrew Strauss wrote an article titled, “Toward Global Parliament”: The nation-state is an old-fashioned concept that has no role to play in a modern globalised world.” (61). Marshall brings many more similar statements.

Comment
The aim of destroying the middle class and its replacement by the proletariat makes the massive Muslim immigration and the increasing unemployment which the Wall Street superclass has created  in the middle class comprehensible. However, I do not think the New World Order can do entirely without some. reduced, well-educated middle class.The most prominent of the New World Order clubs is no doubt the Council on Foreign Relations, which rules the USA and the world by means of David Rockefeller´s Studies Programme. As seen above the CFR scorns the nation state and favours world governance/world government by an undemocratic corporative clique of transnational corporations, politicians, media people and their masters behind the whole treacherous crime against us: The architects of the New World Order, the illuminists, for whom the EU states to work (explanatory statement).

The globalists are  dangling a brave new non-anarchist world before us in their world state – although the process of  globalisation  up to now has begotten increasing chaos, violence and – anarchy because of immigration and parallel societies.

Those with the Money: the illuminists and their bought political henchmen: This class has no borders, is stateless.
We are being told that the components of our states (courts, executives, legislature governments etc.) lose their independence by networking globally (i.e. receiving orders from the gurus of globalization: The illuminists, whose heads are the Rothschild and Rockefeller dynasties and their tools: the CFR, Bilderberg, the Trilateral Commission, the Club of Rome. Thus, it comes true: Money governs the world – and it comes from Lucifer´s obedient followers, who have stolen it from us.

We are being told that the illuminists want to eliminate the world´s middle class to have just 2 classes: The “superclass”, the transhuman gods of the “Age of Transition” in their own imagination, and the underlings to be made robots, the slaves, whose number is to be reduced – the useless eaters. The whole bunch is to be transnationalised, stateless, without character. A herd – not thinking individuals. How far they have already come down that path!!

Only God can stop this madness, for we have been totally hypnotized by these New World Order criminals.

    There is a difference in Nazis and Russian Communists in the rate at which they gained power and repressed their people. The Russian Communists came to power in a violent civil war, with great mass murders and starvation from the outset in the years preceding Stalin, whereas the Nazis came to power more incrementally.“Yet the Nazi terror in those early years, I was beginning to see, affected the lives of relatively few Germans. The vast majority did not seem unduly concerned with what happened to a few Communists, Socialists, pacifists, defiant priests and pastors, and to the Jews.”(Shirer, p. 146)

    At this early stage of Hitler’s rise, most Germans were not victims of the NSDAP repression. Businesses and Christian churches were largely left intact initially, unlike those under Stalin; Stalin demolished dozens of churches in Moscow. Christians under the NSDAP were attacked only incrementally, as were the Jews. To suggest that the NSDAP were pro-business, or pro-Christian because these victims were attacked in later stages would be like suggesting that they were pro-British or pro-Dutch because they were attacked later than the Czechs or Poles. European countries were attacked in order of their weakness and proximity.

    What distinguishes fascism or Nazism from generic socialism in economic theory is how they translate government control into reality. This slow rate of takeover can be called Fabian Fascism in reference to the Roman General Fabius Maximus, who fought Hannibal’s army in small debilitating skirmishes, rather than attempting a decisive battle.

    For the socialist, it means outright nationalization — government ownership — of private business. In a socialist state, the government owns and operates the airlines, railroads, banks, phone companies, and any other business you can think of. Everyone is an employee of the State. Until recently in Fidel Castro’s Cuba, even shoeshine boys worked for a government cooperative.

    For the fascist, public or government control is just that — control, not nationalized ownership, via complete bureaucratic regulation of ostensibly private business. As an ardent admirer of Marx, Mussolini created the term, Fascism, for his brand of authoritarian, patriotic Marxism…

    But fascism is also an economic theory. Intellectually, fascism is far more dishonest than socialism, which at least has the courage to assert legal ownership of the economy and thus assume legal responsibility for its functioning. Fascism places responsibility for the economy on business, which is rendered Potemkinly private, a Hollywood set facade of private ownership.

    The result of both socialism and fascism is the same: the destruction of economic freedom, replace the individual’s choice of how to make a peaceful, honest living with State edicts. Fascism accomplishes this, however, more insidiously. Instead of being a straightforward employee of the government, you and I are told our lives and businesses are still private, while any attempt to act as such is proscribed by some regulation — until we are trapped and immobilized in Washington’s web…

    Advocacy of what became know as Fabian Socialism was in vogue in the early part of the 20th Century, particularly among British socialists, such as Sydney and Beatrice Webb and George Bernard Shaw. They argued that socialism could best be achieved by not frightening the horses, that is, not through immediate revolutionary action, but in small, incremental steps. (Wheeler, 1997)

    A military history of the period or a history of the churches or business in the Nazi period provides good evidence of this incrementalism. Hitler did not begin by invading France proper, nor did he begin by killing the Jews. In early 1935 the inhabitants of the coal rich Saar district voted to return to Germany out of the control of France. Hitler welcomed the return with promises to the French that no more demands would be made. When the French and British wanted to call it quits territorially and allow the Nazis arms parity, Hitler then delayed the territory part of the deal until later when he explained he needed lebensraum (living room) for Germany. By simple decree he wiped out the military provisions of the Versailles Treaty. France had great military superiority, and had the right to use it after Hitler broke the peace treaty; but didn’t use it to stop them. Hitler professed peace, and usually struck on Saturdays while the English were at their weekend resorts.

    The Nazis used this pattern again and again with the Rhineland, Anschluss, and on through Europe. It is often not clear whether a power neglects to stand up to a bully because of cowardice or because they are genuinely deceived. Hitler was no match for the French when he invaded the Rhineland in March of 1936; the French could have crushed him, but they chose not to march. They pleaded to the League of Nations instead. (Shirer, pp. 238-39) It may have been self-deception, which caused Chamberlain to appease Hitler in Berlin; or it may have been the intimidating and hypnotic effect of Hitler. It may have been self-deception that led Franklin Delano Roosevelt to cede East Europe to Stalin at Yalta in return for Stalin’s assurance of free elections at the earliest opportunity; (Courtois, p. 20) or it may have just been due to ill health and fatigue. Theodore Roosevelt is reported to have said:

    Peace is generally good in itself, but it is never the highest good unless it comes as the handmaid of righteousness; and it becomes a very evil thing if it serves merely as a mask for cowardice and sloth, or as an instrument to further the ends of despotism or anarchy. We despise and abhor the bully, the brawler, the oppressor, whether in private or public life, but we despise no less the coward and the voluptuary.

    Persecution of Jews grew incrementally as well. In 1933 in the first year Hitler took office, he excluded them from public office, the civil service, journalism, radio, farming, teaching, the theater, the films. In 1934 he weeded them out of the stock market, the banks, and ownership of businesses. The number of Jews emigrating increased after the passing of the Nuremberg Laws on Citizenship and Race in 1935 after which Jews could no longer be citizens of Germany. Supplemental laws to the Nuremberg Laws were written later outlawing Jews completely. On Easter weekend 1935 Shirer wrote in his diary: “Taking the Easter weekend off. The hotel mainly filled with Jews and we are a little surprised to see so many of them still prospering and apparently unafraid. I think they are unduly optimistic.” (Shirer, pp. 159-61)

    Introduction

    In this, the third part in the series, `To Kill A Tree,` we will take a closer look at how through various means and methods, the Illuminati are, in parallel with their depopulation agenda, working towards the deconstruction of the nation states of the West, by disconnecting people from their roots, and diluting the ethnic makeup of countries through mass immigration, thereby weakening the resolve of populations to oppose the trend towards internationalism. We will also examine how the Illuminists and their Marxist, humanist, socialist `lackeys,` have worked towards breaking down Western civilisation and tradition, by the rewriting of history and the defamation of national heroes.

    Immigration

    To challenge the concept that large scale immigration is beneficial to the West is to risk being labelled racist, even though the proof is clearly `in the pudding` as it were. In his book, `Do We Need Mass Immigration,` the British author Anthony Browne writes:

    ” Immigration at current levels is turning Britain into a country very ill-at-ease with itself. It imports poverty, increases social tensions, crime, public health problems such as TB, and creates parallel communities.”

    Large scale immigration from the `Third World` is one of the key tools being used by the Illuminati in order to break down resistance to their plans for a One World State.

    Immigration on the scale we are now witnessing calls into question the very future and character of the nations that our children will inherit, if indeed, with the relentless drive towards the Federal European State and plans for a North America Union moving forward apace, there will be any such entities left to inherit. Massive immigration from the `developing` world is now adversely affecting all the countries of the West.

    Within the European Union, the governing elites in Brussels continue to present the member states as little more than a collection of minorities, ‘multicultural societies’ in which national characteristics are of no greater value or significance than those of any other culture. Furthermore, they clearly believe, and the evidence is supportive, that large scale immigration assists them in achieving their defined goal of a Pan European Superstate, within which any nationalism or patriotism would not only be frowned upon, but outlawed under the auspices of xenophobia.

    But their premise is wrong. The UK for instance is not a multicultural society. A mere eight per cent of the population are from an ethnic minority, and even then a number of those are Christians. Nor is it a country of immigrants. Until the 1950s, there had been no large-scale immigration since the Norman Conquest over a 1000 years before. The notion that the UK is a `mongrel nation` is erroneous. Britain is a country with a distinctive and ancient identity and culture founded upon a dominant religion, Christianity, to which most of its citizens still feel at least a nominal attachment.

    Denying the Culture

    Immigrants, if they are to lead full and rewarding lives, need to become part of the culture and society of their new home. They need to be able to identify with it’s history and traditions. Those who went to Britain early in the last century did so, because they valued and admired the countrys national characteristics of fair play, tolerance, and emotional restraint. Without sacrificing their own culture, they adopted British values by learning about Shakespeare, Austen, the Bronte Sisters and Dickens, and by studying the history of parliamentary democracy and the growth of British institutions. But the point I am making here is that these things were actually taught. People were imbued with British values because the British themselves were proud of their nation, identity and culture, and they believed in transmitting what Britain stood for to all the nation’s citizens and their children.

    But this is no longer the case. These things are no longer being taught. For many decades now, the Marxist controlled UK education system, through it’s schools and universities has been doing its best instead to destroy all semblances of national pride. The very idea that a national identity should be transmitted is considered racist, imperialist and exclusionary. The great works of English literature are replaced by books considered to be more ‘relevant’ to a child’s own cultural and ethnic background. British political history has become `persona non grata,` so children are given no sense of any chronological national story to make sense of the society they inhabit.

    On the front line of the culture war now raging, and amongst its ideologically driven `foot soldiers,` this fallacious dogma is derived largely from a perhaps well intended, but misplaced excess of tact towards minorities, along with an indoctrinated guilt complex over the British Empire, even though if the history of that Empire was taught properly, it would necessarily include the oft valiant story of the many immigrant groups that fought heroically for Britain. But in truth, at it’s core, there lies a desire to create an entirely new kind of society by destroying the old one. That means, among other things, repudiating and denying openly and publicly, loudly and often, the Christian basis of British culture. Thus, in the UK, a recent report by the Institute for Public Policy Research on the teaching of religion in schools, concluded that there was a need to teach a ‘diversity of identities’ to equip children for life in a ‘multicultural society’. Accordingly, it directs teachers to encourage children to question the faith they inherit from their families, and to regard the moral teachings of religion with suspicion, if not outright hostility. Under the cover of promoting ‘diversity,’ this is actually a menu for subversion, explicitly aiming to undermine the family and the moral and religious basis of the nation, severing children from parents and tradition.

    Cambridge university amongst others, has banned Christian prayers at graduation ceremonies in order to avoid causing any offence to other religions and atheists, and to avoid legal action under race or religious discrimination laws. Thus we see a national culture, redefined as being intrinsically racist or discriminatory. Because it is embarrassed by its own culture, Britain refuses to defend it in the same way other nations, like the Dutch or the Danes, for example, have done with theirs. The Dutch have recently expelled large numbers of failed asylum-seekers, and Denmark has severely tightened it’s policy on immigration, to the point where it struggles to work within the confines of EU legislation.

    These small countries have belatedly realised, that multiculturalism poses a `clear and present` danger to their culture and identity which they are neither prepared or able to tolerate, and still remain distinct national entities. The Dutch say that their 30-year experiment in multiculturalism has resulted in sink schools, violence, and ethnic ghettos.

    Most immigrants are hard-working, honest people, looking to make a good life for themselves and their families, and they bring with them many other admirable ethnic and national characteristics which in time, providing the numbers entering are capable of being assimilated, can add to and enrich the indigenous culture. But if their numbers are too numerous, or if they don’t wish to integrate, it then becomes impossible for the indigenous culture to absorb them. If there simply aren’t enough people who can identify with the country’s history, then it cannot be taught. And since any nation is rooted in its history, the national identity unravels. Being ashamed of our country’s past, no longer becomes a question of any relevance, as there is no longer a sense of any collective ‘we’.

    In his `Civitas` pamphlet ‘The Need for Nations,` Roger Scruton insists this situation places democracy itself in mortal danger. He suggests that without national loyalty, there can be no common ground. A democracy works only if its members think of themselves as ‘we’. If there is only ‘them,’ people no longer acknowledge the validity of the laws that bind them, and are no longer prepared to make sacrifices or die for a country inhabited by people they don’t know or trust. The result is that democracy withers, and social disintegration follows.

    David Goodhart, editor of the liberal magazine Prospect, makes a similar point. He says:

    “We are linked by a set of common values and assumptions. But as Britain becomes more diverse, that common culture becomes eroded. And if we feel we no longer have anything in common with our fellow citizens, we will no longer be prepared to pay for common welfare provision”.

    Following his considered and thoughtful discussion of an important issue of national significance, Mr Goodhart found himself in the `gun sights` of no less a `grandee,` than the chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality, who labelled him a racist, and likened him to Enoch Powell and the British National Party. It is sometimes difficult to grasp how on earth have we reached the point, where a clearly decent man is smeared a racist simply for wishing to preserve his national identity? Why is Britain so much less attached to its own culture and traditions than the Dutch and the Danes, who have achieved far less, or other Europeans like the French who have their own colonial history to contend with? And why has education unraveled the culture in Britain to an extent not seen elsewhere?

    Home To Roost

    The prime suspects in this sorry saga are the radicalised, `baby-boomers` of the sixties and seventies, who having been indoctrinated with the insidious ideologies of Cultural Marxism in university, set out to infiltrate and destabilise western society. They had much less impact in Europe, where institutions remained robust enough to mount a solid defence, and language provided a bulwark against the `new` ideas coming across the Atlantic from America. Schools still transmitted their traditional values, the family held up, and the churches were strong. In Britain, however, these institutions simply collapsed. The welfare state, in promoting a culture of rights, had eroded responsibility and duty and encouraged instead a culture of narcissism. This created fertile ground for the cult of personal choice promoted by the radicals.

    In addition, the shared language and close cultural ties with America made Britain particularly susceptible to the Neo Marxist programmes of child-centered education, extreme feminism and minority ‘victim’ rights coming across the `pond.` In Britain, a State monopoly over schools and universities meant there was no challenge to these ideas, which aimed to disconnect citizens from the traditions and established values of the nation. When faced with this rout, the established church merely wrung its hands and screamed, “No Mas,” then dutifully followed suit. As a result, the three pillars of national identity; family, education and church crumbled.

    Internationalism

    Britain and the other English speaking nations may be in the vanguard of this process, but it is part of a global trend, carefully planned and orchestrated by the `Hidden Power.` The immigration issue is only the most visible symptom of the ailment afflicting Western Civilisation, which now finds itself at a most perilous juncture in it’s history. The idea that a people’s principal duties are to family, community and nation is being challenged at every turn by a new vision in which people are expected to feel a form of `global responsibility.` In this new trans-national order, the powers of individual nations are being progressively transferred to institutions that cross national boundaries. The European Union, the United Nations, the World Trade Organisation and the proposed NAU will increasingly impose laws and obligations on once proud sovereign nations where they are not accountable to the people. Much of this energy is being provided by insider human rights activists promoting ‘international law,’ which has no democratic legitimacy but is increasingly being used to bring democracies to heel. Bit by bit as the nation state is superseded, democracy is being eroded. The ultimate goal, a One World State.

    It is no accident that the trend towards trans-nationalism has been accelerating ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union. It is nothing less than the `Neo-Communist` means by which Western Civilisation is systematically destabilised. There has been a counter reaction against this trend, mostly by small countries, such as the Denmark and Holland, who have adopted what can only be termed a `siege mentality,` as the world at large closes in around them, and waves of immigrants breach the walls of their once homogeneous citadels. In the US, the `war` rages between rival camps supporting either trans-nationalism or democracy. Amazingly, the British haven’t even grasped there is a battle to be fought. According to Philosopher Roger Scruton, the British are sleep walking into the likely to be European Federal State “in which national loyalty will be no more significant than support for a local football team.” The outcome, he says, will be despotism and anarchy.

    We can see the writing on the wall already. In 1996, Greenwich council in London, produced a report in response to the murders of Stephen Lawrence and two other local black boys. One of the principal reasons for the murderous rage of white youths, it said, was that they had no national identity to be proud of and to give their lives meaning. White children, in the UK, it said, ’seem like cultural ghosts, haunting as mere absences the richly decorated corridors of multicultural society.’

    In her article, `Britains’ Social Suicide,` the journalist Melanie Phillips writes: “People may also have several identities, like Russian dolls stacked inside each other. But ultimately, they have to have common bonds; and these depend on a common culture, which requires controlled migration.”

    Reconstructing the Past

    To sever a people’s roots, it is necessary to destroy it’s memory. By denying a people true knowledge of who they are and where they came from, and those aspects of their history and tradition which defines them as a separate identifiable nation, with a common language, common faith and common mission, it is possible to create a sense of hopelessness and futility, which in time will eventually kill the collective psyche and love of country and enable that once distinct people to be swallowed up by any would be Supranational state.

    George Orwell in his book `1984,` argued that by destroying the record of a people’s past, thereby leaving it ignorant of it’s forbears and their achievements, one can fill the vacuum with a brand new history. The primary weapon devised to create the academic circumstances needed to implement the pernicious and destructive agenda to achieve such a condition is a little something known as `Critical Theory.` Developed by the Marxist `thinkers` of the Frankfurt School, (see reference section) Critical Theory has been defined as the “essentially destructive criticism of all the main elements of Western culture, including Christianity, capitalism, authority, the family, patriarchy, hierarchy, morality, tradition, sexual restraint, loyalty, patriotism, nationalism, heredity, ethnocentrism, convention and conservatism.” Raehn.

    In practice, Critical Theory works like this; The Marxist repeats the charge that the West is responsible for injuring and harming every civilisation and culture it has come into contact with. That Western Societies are intrinsically racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-semitic and fascist. The almost universal use of this method of cultural degradation since the sixties, has induced a form of `collective pessimism` throughout Western nations. This manifests itself, particularly in the young, as a sense of alienation from the native culture, of hopelessness and despair, where a people come to view their own land as oppressive, evil and unworthy of loyalty.
    Critical Theory does to nations what `attack politics` does to opposing candidates in elections, only on a much larger and more destructive scale. Pat Buchanan in his book, `Death Of The West,` calls it “The moral equivalent of vandalising graves and desecrating corpses.”

    Can anyone reading this article argue that to date, the `agents of change` by the use of this cultural weapon, have been diabolically successful in their systematic application of Critical Theory towards achieving their nefarious ends?
    Out With The Old, In With The New

    Not so long ago, our children were taught the names of the great heroes of Western History. In the UK, amongst many others, it was Nelson, Wellington and Churchill, whilst children in the US learned about the exploits of Columbus, Washington, and Jefferson. National holidays and public buildings were named after them. But those days are gone forever, or so it seems. State schools were once proud national institutions where our children were taught how to be good citizens, patriots even. In his book, `The Disuniting Of America,` Arthur Schlesinger writes:

    “The first step in liquidating a people is to erase its memory. Destroy its books, its culture, its history. Then have someone write new books, manufacture a new culture, invent a new history. Before long, the nation will begin to forget what it is and what it was.”

    Since the 1960’s, Christianity has been removed from the classroom. The old books by the great writers are gone and new more `relevant` politically correct titles put in their place. The stories of our national heroes are no longer taught in schools, and are noticeably absent from schoolbooks, and have been largely forgotten, except by those of fifty years and upwards who still remember different times. Public buildings and holidays have been given new names, the achievements of our forebears slandered, and our people made to feel embarrassed for a supposedly evil and malevolent past.

    The degradation and dethroning of past heroes appears to be pandemic throughout the great nations of the developed world. In the US, amongst a very long list of similar measures taken by the `thought police,` George Washington day has been replaced by `Presidents Day` and in Richmond Virginia, General Robert E. Lee’s portrait was removed from a public display and then vandalised. In the UK, former Mayor of London `Red` Ken Livingstone spent much of his two terms in office, albeit unsuccessfully, plotting the destruction of statues honouring the `Great men` of Empire, such as Admiral Sir Charles Napier, Sir Henry Havelock and most notably, Maj. Gen. Charles Gordon, the man who played such a large part in ending the slave trade. In France, plans to celebrate the baptism of Clovis, the fifth century King of the Franks, were `scuppered` by Marxists who bitterly resented any commemoration of the year France became a Christian nation.

    In the `Death of The West, Patrick Buchanan reviews how successful the agents of change have been in reshaping the way Americans view their country. In the 1950’s around 89% of American men and 94% of American women believed their country to be the finest on earth. In a poll conducted in 2000, only 58% of American men and 51% of American women felt that way. I am well aware that my own countrymen and women are in the main deeply demoralised by what is left of Tony Blair’s superficially manufactured `Cool Britannia,` and across Europe, it seems paradoxically, that it is only the Danes who espouse any sense of satisfaction and contentment with their nation, and as I have written at length previously, there is much more to that than meets the eye (see reference section).

    The Change Agents

    In the UK, there has been a collective `swoon` over the election of Barrack Obama. Media superlatives have exhausted the full lexicon of cliches. Journalists, grown men amongst them, wept with joy over his acceptance speech. There’s been nothing like it seen in the `old country` since Britain’s former prime minister, Tony Blair was elected back in 1997.

    Like Obama, Blair took Britain by storm when he won the first of his three general elections in 1997 and threw the Conservative party a `curve ball` it’s still trying to catch. Like Obama, Blair was charismatic, eloquent, cool, and laid back. Like Obama, Blair was seen as a saviour figure, who would lay his hands upon a tired and broken nation and bring healing where there was discord. And like Obama, Blair also had an agenda of change, which unknown to all but the conspiratorial `inner sanctum,` was ready and prepared for him come election day by his Illuminati puppet masters.

    Tony Blair was widely considered, by a politically inept and ignorant public, to be something of a conservative in comparison with other Labour Party Ministers. Indeed, it could be said that he came to power because he symbolically threw off the partys commitment to state-control socialism, thus establishing his credentials as a centrist. What few realized at the time was that in fact he was a radical of a different kind. Throughout his term in office, he would follow an agenda to remake Britain according to the `Illuminists` strategy, as outlined to him at the Bilderberg meeting which he had attended the year prior to his election. A strategy to guide Britain towards full absorption into the European Superstate and change forever the very nature of the British national character. The public facade; the `drama` to be played out before the masses, was to create a more inclusive, kind and just society, ostensibly by eradicating prejudice, reshaping the country in his own image, whilst in reality, he worked tirelessly and treacherously towards the ushering in of a New World Order.

    Accordingly, `his` government either directly promoted or did nothing to stop the long march through Britain’s institutions, the systematic undermining of the country’s fundamental values and traditions, in line with the `Cultural Marxism` strategy of the Italian Marxist Antonio Gramsci. It tore up Britain’s (unwritten) constitution, devolved power to Scotland and Wales, and changed the composition of the the House of Lords, thereby destroying the delicate equilibrium of the balance of power.

    It also set about changing the identity of the country. Promoting the doctrine of multiculturalism, it opened Britain’s doors to mass immigration. In the state-controlled schools, teachers no longer saw their role as the transmission of Britain’s historic culture, which was deemed `racist`; accordingly, children were no longer taught the history of their country, but instead a concept of ‘citizenship’ which was all about changing the values of the country. It undermined marriage, promoting instead `lifestyle choice` by giving incentives to single mothers and morally legitimizing single parenthood.

    Barrack Obama has spoken about remedying what he sees as those failings in the U.S. Constitution which promote only `negative liberties,` or put another way, freedom from something, rather than having positive rights to something. Through it’s adoption of human-rights legislation, Britain has exchanged its historic concept of `negative” liberty,` that everything is permitted unless it is actively prohibited, for the ‘positive’ European idea that only what is codified is to be permitted. As a result, freedom has shrunk to what ideology permits.

    Equality legislation has created a `victim culture` under which the interests of all groups deemed to be powerless (minorities, women, homosexuals etc.) take precedence over those deemed to be powerful (white Christian men). Since this doctrine holds that the `powerless` can do no wrong while the `powerful` can do no right, injustice is thus institutionalized, and anyone who queries the preferential treatment afforded such groups finds his or herself vilified as being a racist or a bigot, or both.

    All this constitutes a fundamentally illiberal culture in which dissent is disallowed, and where divide and rule and intellectual intimidation become the order of the day. In the US, not surprisingly, this also happens to be the culture of ACORN, one of the radical groups funded by the Annenberg Challenge and Woods Fund, and the ‘educational’ or criminal justice ideas of William Ayers, naturally endorsed by President Barrack Obama.

    In the same way that British `Liberals and Fabians promote the `powerless` as being incapable of doing wrong at home, they do likewise with regards to the third world. These self appointed agents of change recognize Obama as one of their own. That is because Britains Fabian intelligentsia and political class has `signed up` to `transnational progressivism` which holds that the nation state is the source of all the ills in the world because it is inherently fascist and racist (for an in depth study of the source of this nonsense, read `The Authoritarian Personality` by Theodore Adorno). Obama believes America has its own sins to expiate, and Britain’s treacherous internationalist political class likes the sound of that. It wants and needs America to be humbled. The message they want to promulgate is that nations cause wars, and that the sooner we get a World Government, the better!

    By contrast transnational institutions such as the sacred UN or EU, are held to promote civilised `engagement` with an enemy, to discuss grievances and then reach compromises (Hegelianism). Of course transnational progressivism, multiculturalism, victim culture, pacifism and all the rest of it amount to little more than cultural and national suicide. The reason Britain has embraced these dogmas is because, since the end of WWII, and the ostensible loss of Empire, it has lost belief in itself as a nation and so has been systematically deconstructing its values and breaking down its own defences.

    In recent years, because of what they see as the terminal decline in their nation, hundreds of thousands of Britons have moved to live overseas, whilst millions at home are in a state of desperation, and appalled by the implosion of British culture, identity, and values. But they find themselves politically impotent, in part because the Conservative party will not accept or acknowledge that British values are under attack. It should be said that true Conservative Republicans, as opposed to the `Neo Cons` in America should take careful note of this in order to recognize a similar danger and dilemma facing them following their defeat.

    In Britain, Conservatives believe that in order to regain power, they have to show the people that they have broken with cultural conservatism and move with the `flow` instead, adapting their policies to the changes in society with regard to such issues as gay rights, green politics, anti-racism, whatever. What they have failed to understand is that such change has turned values such as right and wrong, good and bad on their heads and has produced a sentimentalist, cruel, oppressive and perverse society, one where burglars go unpunished, but householders are prosecuted for putting the wrong kind of garbage in the trash can, and where people are too frightened to protest at the erosion of British, Christian, or Western values because of the inevitable and virulent verbal or written slander that will follow.

    True Conservatives whether in America, Britain or elsewhere in the West seem to have abandoned their own cause, `given up the ghost` and capitulated. They just don’t seem to realise that by embracing `change,` they are furthering the severing of national roots, and endorsing a form of enslavement. They don’t appreciate or grasp that as Conservatives, their primary duty is to conserve national culture, values and traditions and protect them against attack. The result has been that millions feel betrayed and abandoned by the absence of conservatism, and many now see the Conservative parties as nothing more, than a bunch of unprincipled opportunists. The challenge for conservatives on both sides of the pond and elsewhere, is to find a way of conserving the essential values of Western Civilization and then defend them against the onslaught being mounted against them both from within and from without. Unless they take up the gauntlet which has been thrown down and soon, there will be nothing left to conserve.

  6. The Frankfurt School: Conspiracy to corrupt

    Western civilization at the present day is passing through a crisis which is essentially different from anything that has been previously experienced. Other societies in the past have changed their social institutions or their religious beliefs under the influence of external forces or the slow development of internal growth. But none, like our own, has ever consciously faced the prospect of a fundamental alteration of the beliefs and institutions on which the whole fabric of social life rests … Civilization is being uprooted from its foundations in nature and tradition and is being reconstituted in a new organisation which is as artificial and mechanical as a modern factory.

    Most of Satan’s work in the world he takes care to keep hidden. But two small shafts of light have been thrown onto his work for me just recently. The first, a short article in the Association of Catholic Women’s ACW Review; the second, a remark (which at first surprised me) from a priest in Russia who claimed that we now, in the West, live in a Communist society. These shafts of light help, especially, to explain the onslaught of officialdom which in many countries worldwide has so successfully been removing the rights of parents to be the primary educators and protectors of their children.

    The ACW Review examined the corrosive work of the ‘Frankfurt School’ – a group of German-American scholars who developed highly provocative and original perspectives on contemporary society and culture, drawing on Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Freud, and Weber. Not that their idea of a ‘cultural revolution’ was particularly new. ‘Until now’, wrote Joseph, Comte de Maistre (1753-1821) who for fifteen years was a Freemason, ‘nations were killed by conquest, that is by invasion: But here an important question arises; can a nation not die on its own soil, without resettlement or invasion, by allowing the flies of decomposition to corrupt to the very core those original and constituent principles which make it what it is.’

    What was the Frankfurt School? Well, in the days following the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, it was believed that workers’ revolution would sweep into Europe and, eventually, into the United States. But it did not do so. Towards the end of 1922 the Communist International (Comintern) began to consider what were the reasons. On Lenin’s initiative a meeting was organised at the Marx-Engels Institute in Moscow.

    The aim of the meeting was to clarify the concept of, and give concrete effect to, a Marxist cultural revolution. Amongst those present were Georg Lukacs (a Hungarian aristocrat, son of a banker, who had become a Communist during World War I ; a good Marxist theoretician he developed the idea of ‘Revolution and Eros’ – sexual instinct used as an instrument of destruction) and Willi Munzenberg (whose proposed solution was to ‘organise the intellectuals and use them to make Western civilisation stink. Only then, after they have corrupted all its values and made life impossible, can we impose the dictatorship of the proletariat’) ‘It was’, said Ralph de Toledano (1916-2007) the conservative author and co-founder of the ‘National Review’, a meeting ‘perhaps more harmful to Western civilization than the Bolshevik Revolution itself.’

    Lenin died in 1924. By this time, however, Stalin was beginning to look on Munzenberg, Lukacs and like-thinkers as ‘revisionists’. In June 1940, Münzenberg fled to the south of France where, on Stalin’s orders, a NKVD assassination squad caught up with him and hanged him from a tree.

    In the summer of 1924, after being attacked for his writings by the 5th Comintern Congress, Lukacs moved to Germany, where he chaired the first meeting of a group of Communist-oriented sociologists, a gathering that was to lead to the foundation of the Frankfurt School.

    This ‘School’ (designed to put flesh on their revolutionary programme) was started at the University of Frankfurt in the Institut für Sozialforschung. To begin with school and institute were indistinguishable. In 1923 the Institute was officially established, and funded by Felix Weil (1898-1975). Weil was born in Argentina and at the age of nine was sent to attend school in Germany. He attended the universities in Tübingen and Frankfurt, where he graduated with a doctoral degree in political science. While at these universities he became increasingly interested in socialism and Marxism. According to the intellectual historian Martin Jay, the topic of his dissertation was ‘the practical problems of implementing socialism.’

    Carl Grünberg, the Institute’s director from 1923-1929, was an avowed Marxist, although the Institute did not have any official party affiliations. But in 1930 Max Horkheimer assumed control and he believed that Marx’s theory should be the basis of the Institute’s research. When Hitler came to power, the Institut was closed and its members, by various routes, fled to the United States and migrated to major US universities—Columbia, Princeton, Brandeis, and California at Berkeley.

    The School included among its members the 1960s guru of the New Left Herbert Marcuse (denounced by Pope Paul VI for his theory of liberation which ‘opens the way for licence cloaked as liberty’), Max Horkheimer, Theodor Adorno, the popular writer Erich Fromm, Leo Lowenthal, and Jurgen Habermas – possibly the School’s most influential representative.

    Basically, the Frankfurt School believed that as long as an individual had the belief – or even the hope of belief – that his divine gift of reason could solve the problems facing society, then that society would never reach the state of hopelessness and alienation that they considered necessary to provoke socialist revolution. Their task, therefore, was as swiftly as possible to undermine the Judaeo-Christian legacy. To do this they called for the most negative destructive criticism possible of every sphere of life which would be designed to de-stabilize society and bring down what they saw as the ‘oppressive’ order. Their policies, they hoped, would spread like a virus—‘continuing the work of the Western Marxists by other means’ as one of their members noted.

    To further the advance of their ‘quiet’ cultural revolution – but giving us no ideas about their plans for the future – the School recommended (among other things):

    1. The creation of racism offences.
    2. Continual change to create confusion
    3. The teaching of sex and homosexuality to children
    4. The undermining of schools’ and teachers’ authority
    5. Huge immigration to destroy identity.
    6. The promotion of excessive drinking
    7. Emptying of churches
    8. An unreliable legal system with bias against victims of crime
    9. Dependency on the state or state benefits
    10. Control and dumbing down of media
    11. Encouraging the breakdown of the family

    One of the main ideas of the Frankfurt School was to exploit Freud’s idea of ‘pansexualism’ – the search for pleasure, the exploitation of the differences between the sexes, the overthrowing of traditional relationships between men and women. To further their aims they would:

    • attack the authority of the father, deny the specific roles of father and mother, and wrest away from families their rights as primary educators of their children.
    • abolish differences in the education of boys and girls
    • abolish all forms of male dominance – hence the presence of women in the armed forces
    • declare women to be an ‘oppressed class’ and men as ‘oppressors’
    Munzenberg summed up the Frankfurt School’s long-term operation thus: ‘We will make the West so corrupt that it stinks.’

    The School believed there were two types of revolution: (a) political and (b) cultural. Cultural revolution demolishes from within. ‘Modern forms of subjection are marked by mildness’. They saw it as a long-term project and kept their sights clearly focused on the family, education, media, sex and popular culture.

    The Family

    The School’s ‘Critical Theory’ preached that the ‘authoritarian personality’ is a product of the patriarchal family – an idea directly linked to Engels’ Origins of the Family, Private Property and the State, which promoted matriarchy. Already Karl Marx had written, in the “Communist Manifesto”, about the radical notion of a ‘community of women’ and in The German Ideology of 1845, written disparagingly about the idea of the family as the basic unit of society. This was one of the basic tenets of the ‘Critical Theory’ : the necessity of breaking down the contemporary family. The Institute scholars preached that ‘Even a partial breakdown of parental authority in the family might tend to increase the readiness of a coming generation to accept social change.’

    Following Karl Marx, the School stressed how the ‘authoritarian personality’ is a product of the patriarchal family—it was Marx who wrote so disparagingly about the idea of the family being the basic unit of society. All this prepared the way for the warfare against the masculine gender promoted by Marcuse under the guise of ‘women’s liberation’ and by the New Left movement in the 1960s.

    They proposed transforming our culture into a female-dominated one. In 1933, Wilhelm Reich, one of their members, wrote in The Mass Psychology of Fascism that matriarchy was the only genuine family type of ‘natural society.’ Eric Fromm was also an active advocate of matriarchal theory. Masculinity and femininity, he claimed, were not reflections of ‘essential’ sexual differences, as the Romantics had thought but were derived instead from differences in life functions, which were in part socially determined.’ His dogma was the precedent for the radical feminist pronouncements that, today, appear in nearly every major newspaper and television programme.

    The revolutionaries knew exactly what they wanted to do and how to do it. They have succeeded.

    Education

    Lord Bertrand Russell joined with the Frankfurt School in their effort at mass social engineering and spilled the beans in his 1951 book, The Impact of Science on Society. He wrote: ‘Physiology and psychology afford fields for scientific technique which still await development.’ The importance of mass psychology ‘has been enormously increased by the growth of modern methods of propaganda. Of these the most influential is what is called ‘education. The social psychologists of the future will have a number of classes of school children on whom they will try different methods of producing an unshakable conviction that snow is black. Various results will soon be arrived at. First, that the influence of home is obstructive. Second, that not much can be done unless indoctrination begins before the age of ten. Third, that verses set to music and repeatedly intoned are very effective. Fourth, that the opinion that snow is white must be held to show a morbid taste for eccentricity. But I anticipate. It is for future scientists to make these maxims precise and discover exactly how much it costs per head to make children believe that snow is black, and how much less it would cost to make them believe it is dark gray . When the technique has been perfected, every government that has been in charge of education for a generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policemen.”

    Writing in 1992 in Fidelio Magazine, [The Frankfurt School and Political Correctness] Michael Minnicino observed how the heirs of Marcuse and Adorno now completely dominate the universities, ‘teaching their own students to replace reason with ‘Politically Correct’ ritual exercises. There are very few theoretical books on arts, letters, or language published today in the United States or Europe which do not openly acknowledge their debt to the Frankfurt School. The witchhunt on today’s campuses is merely the implementation of Marcuse’s concept of ‘repressive toleration’-‘tolerance for movements from the left, but intolerance for movements from the right’-enforced by the students of the Frankfurt School’.

    Drugs

    Dr. Timothy Leary gave us another glimpse into the mind of the Frankfurt School in his account of the work of the Harvard University Psychedelic Drug Project, ‘Flashback.’ He quoted a conversation that he had with Aldous Huxley: “These brain drugs, mass produced in the laboratories, will bring about vast changes in society. This will happen with or without you or me. All we can do is spread the word. The obstacle to this evolution, Timothy, is the Bible’. Leary then went on: “We had run up against the Judeo-Christian commitment to one God, one religion, one reality, that has cursed Europe for centuries and America since our founding days. Drugs that open the mind to multiple realities inevitably lead to a polytheistic view of the universe. We sensed that the time for a new humanist religion based on intelligence, good-natured pluralism and scientific paganism had arrived.”

    One of the directors of the Authoritarian Personality project, R. Nevitt Sanford, played a pivotal role in the usage of psychedelic drugs. In 1965, he wrote in a book issued by the publishing arm of the UK’s Tavistock Institute:‘The nation, seems to be fascinated by our 40,000 or so drug addicts who are seen as alarmingly wayward people who must be curbed at all costs by expensive police activity. Only an uneasy Puritanism could support the practice of focusing on the drug addicts (rather than our 5 million alcoholics) and treating them as a police problem instead of a medical one, while suppressing harmless drugs such as marijuana and peyote along with the dangerous ones.” The leading propagandists of today’s drug lobby base their argument for legalization on the same scientific quackery spelled out all those years ago by Dr. Sanford.

    Such propagandists include the multi-billionaire atheist George Soros who chose, as one of his first domestic programs, to fund efforts to challenge the efficacy of America’s $37-billion-a-year war on drugs. The Soros-backed Lindesmith Center serves as a leading voice for Americans who want to decriminalize drug use. ‘Soros is the ‘Daddy Warbucks of drug legalization,’ claimed Joseph Califano Jr. of Columbia University’s National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse’ (The Nation, Sep 2, 1999).

    Music, Television and Popular Culture

    Adorno was to become head of a ‘music studies’ unit, where in his Theory of Modern Music he promoted the prospect of unleashing atonal and other popular music as a weapon to destroy society, degenerate forms of music to promote mental illness. He said the US could be brought to its knees by the use of radio and television to promote a culture of pessimism and despair – by the late 1930s he (together with Horkheimer) had migrated to Hollywood.
    The expansion of violent video-games also well supported the School’s aims.

    Sex

    In his book The Closing of the American Mind, Alan Bloom observed how Marcuse appealed to university students in the sixties with a combination of Marx and Freud. In Eros and Civilization and One Dimensional Man Marcuse promised that the overcoming of capitalism and its false consciousness will result in a society where the greatest satisfactions are sexual. Rock music touches the same chord in the young. Free sexual expression, anarchism, mining of the irrational unconscious and giving it free rein are what they have in common.’

    The Media

    The modern media – not least Arthur ‘Punch’ Sulzberger Jnr., who took charge of the New York Times in 1992 – drew greatly on the Frankfurt School’s study The Authoritarian Personality. (New York: Harper, 1950). In his book Arrogance, (Warner Books, 1993) former CBS News reporter Bernard Goldberg noted of Sulzberger that he ‘still believes in all those old sixties notions about ‘liberation’ and ‘changing the world man’ . . . In fact, the Punch years have been a steady march down PC Boulevard, with a newsroom fiercely dedicated to every brand of diversity except the intellectual kind.’

    In 1953 the Institute moved back to the University of Frankfurt. Adorno died in 1955 and Horkheimer in 1973. The Institute of Social Research continued, but what was known as the Frankfurt School did not. The ‘cultural Marxism’ that has since taken hold of our schools and universities – that ‘political correctness’, which has been destroying our family bonds, our religious tradition and our entire culture -sprang from the Frankfurt School.

    It was these intellectual Marxists who, later, during the anti-Vietnam demonstrations, coined the phrase, ‘make love, not war’; it was these intellectuals who promoted the dialectic of ‘negative’ criticism; it was these theoreticians who dreamed of a utopia where their rules governed. It was their concept that led to the current fad for the rewriting of history, and to the vogue for ‘deconstruction’. Their mantras: ‘sexual differences are a contract; if it feels good, do it; do your own thing.’

    In an address at the US Naval Academy in August 1999, Dr Gerald L. Atkinson, CDR USN (Ret), gave a background briefing on the Frankfurt School, reminding his audience that it was the ‘foot soldiers’ of the Frankfurt School who introduced the ‘sensitivity training’ techniques used in public schools over the past 30 years (and now employed by the US military to educate the troops about ‘sexual harassment’). During ‘sensitivity’ training teachers were told not to teach but to ‘facilitate.’ Classrooms became centres of self-examination where children talked about their own subjective feelings. This technique was designed to convince children they were the sole authority in their own lives.

    Atkinson continued: ‘The Authoritarian personality,’ studied by the Frankfurt School in the 1940s and 1950s in America, prepared the way for the subsequent warfare against the masculine gender promoted by Herbert Marcuse and his band of social revolutionaries under the guise of ‘women’s liberation’ and the New Left movement in the 1960s. The evidence that psychological techniques for changing personality is intended to mean emasculation of the American male is provided by Abraham Maslow, founder of Third Force Humanist Psychology and a promoter of the psychotherapeutic classroom, who wrote that, ‘… the next step in personal evolution is a transcendence of both masculinity and femininity to general humanness.’

    On April 17th, 1962, Maslow gave a lecture to a group of nuns at Sacred Heart, a Catholic women’s college in Massachusetts. He noted in a diary entry how the talk had been very ‘successful,’ but he found that very fact troubling. ‘They shouldn’t applaud me,’ he wrote, ‘they should attack. If they were fully aware of what I was doing, they would [attack]’ (Journals, p. 157).

    The Network

    In her booklet Sex & Social Engineering (Family Education Trust 1994) Valerie Riches observed how in the late 1960s and early 1970s, there were intensive parliamentary campaigns taking place emanating from a number of organisations in the field of birth control (i.e., contraception, abortion, sterilisation). ‘From an analysis of their annual reports, it became apparent that a comparatively small number of people were involved to a surprising degree in an array of pressure groups. This network was not only linked by personnel, but by funds, ideology and sometimes addresses: it was also backed by vested interests and supported by grants in some cases by government departments. At the heart of the network was the Family Planning Association (FPA) with its own collection of offshoots. What we unearthed was a power structure with enormous influence.

    ‘Deeper investigation revealed that the network, in fact extended further afield, into eugenics, population control, birth control, sexual and family law reforms, sex and health education. Its tentacles reached out to publishing houses, medical, educational and research establishments, women’s organisations and marriage guidance—anywhere where influence could be exerted. It appeared to have great influence over the media, and over permanent officials in relevant government departments, out of all proportion to the numbers involved.

    ‘During our investigations, a speaker at a Sex Education Symposium in Liverpool outlined tactics of sex education saying: ‘if we do not get into sex education, children will simply follow the mores of their parents’. The fact that sex education was to be the vehicle for peddlers of secular humanism soon became apparent.

    ‘However, at that time the power of the network and the full implications of its activities were not fully understood. It was thought that the situation was confined to Britain. The international implications had not been grasped.

    ‘Soon after, a little book was published with the intriguing title The Men Behind Hitler—A German Warning to the World. Its thesis was that the eugenics movement, which had gained popularity early in the twentieth century, had gone underground following the holocaust in Nazi Germany, but was still active and functioning through organizations promoting abortion, euthanasia, sterilization, mental health, etc. The author urged the reader to look at his home country and neighbouring countries, for he would surely find that members and committees of these organizations would cross-check to a remarkable extent.

    ‘Other books and papers from independent sources later confirmed this situation. . . . A remarkable book was also published in America which documented the activities of the Sex Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS). It was entitled The SIECUS Circle A Humanist Revolution. SIECUS was set up in 1964 and lost no time in engaging in a programme of social engineering by means of sex education in the schools. Its first executive director was Mary Calderone, who was also closely linked to Planned Parenthood, the American equivalent of the British FPA. According to The SIECUS Circle, Calderone supported sentiments and theories put forward by Rudolph Dreikus, a humanist, such as:

    · merging or reversing the sexes or sex roles;
    · liberating children from their families;
    · abolishing the family as we know it’

    In their book Mind Siege, (Thomas Nelson, 2000) Tim LaHaye and David A. Noebel confirmed Riches’s findings of an international network. ‘The leading authorities of Secular Humanism may be pictured as the starting lineup of a baseball team: pitching is John Dewey; catching is Isaac Asimov; first base is Paul Kurtz; second base is Corliss Lamont; third base is Bertrand Russell; shortstop is Julian Huxley; left fielder is Richard Dawkins; center fielder is Margaret Sanger; right fielder is Carl Rogers; manager is ‘Christianity is for losers’ Ted Turner; designated hitter is Mary Calderone; utility players include the hundreds listed in the back of Humanist Manifesto I and II, including Eugenia C. Scott, Alfred Kinsey, Abraham Maslow, Erich Fromm, Rollo May, and Betty Friedan.

    ‘In the grandstands sit the sponsoring or sustaining organizations, such as the . . . the Frankfurt School; the left wing of the Democratic Party; the Democratic Socialists of America; Harvard University; Yale University; University of Minnesota; University of California (Berkeley); and two thousand other colleges and universities.’

    A practical example of how the tidal wave of Maslow-think is engulfing English schools was revealed in an article in the British Nat assoc. of Catholic Families’ (NACF) Catholic Family newspaper (August 2000), where James Caffrey warned about the Citizenship (PSHE) programme which was shortly to be drafted into the National Curriculum. ‘We need to look carefully at the vocabulary used in this new subject’, he wrote, ‘and, more importantly, discover the philosophical basis on which it is founded. The clues to this can be found in the word ‘choice’ which occurs frequently in the Citizenship documentation and the great emphasis placed on pupils’ discussing and ‘clarifying’ their own views, values and choices about any given issue. This is nothing other than the concept known as ‘Values Clarification’ – a concept anathema to Catholicism, or indeed, to Judaism and Islam.

    ‘This concept was pioneered in California in the 1960’s by psychologists William Coulson, Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow. It was based on ‘humanistic’ psychology, in which patients were regarded as the sole judge of their actions and moral behaviour. Having pioneered the technique of Values Clarification the psychologists introduced it into schools and other institutions such as convents and seminaries – with disastrous results. Convents emptied, religious lost their vocations and there was wholesale loss of belief in God. Why? Because Catholic institutions are founded on absolute beliefs in, for example, the Creed and the Ten Commandments. Values Clarification supposes a moral relativism in which there is no absolute right or wrong and no dependence on God.

    ‘This same system is to be introduced to the vulnerable minds of infants, juniors and adolescents in the years 2000+. The underlying philosophy of Values Clarification holds that for teachers to promote virtues such as honesty, justice or chastity constitutes indoctrination of children and ‘violates’ their moral freedom. It is urged that children should be free to choose their own values; the teacher must merely ‘facilitate’ and must avoid all moralising or criticising. As a barrister commented recently on worrying trends in Australian education, ‘The core theme of values clarification is that there are no right or wrong values. Values education does not seek to identify and transmit ‘right’ values, teaching of the Church, especially the papal encyclical Evangelium Vitae.
    ‘In the absence of clear moral guidance, children naturally make choices based on feelings. Powerful peer pressure, freed from the values which stem from a divine source, ensure that ‘shared values’ sink to the lowest common denominator. References to environmental sustainability lead to a mindset where anti-life arguments for population control are present ed as being both responsible and desirable. Similarly, ‘informed choices’ about health and lifestyles are euphemisms for attitudes antithetical to Christian views on motherhood, fatherhood, the sacrament of marriage and family life. Values Clarification is covert and dangerous. It underpins the entire rationale of Citizenship (PSHE) and is to be introduced by statute into the UK soon. It will give young people secular values and imbue them with the attitude that they alone hold ultimate authority and judgement about their lives. No Catholic school can include this new subject as formulated in the Curriculum 2000 document within its current curriculum provision. Dr. William Coulson recognised the psychological damage Rogers’ technique inflicted on youngsters and rejected it, devoting his life to exposing its dangers.

    Should those in authority in Catholic education not do likewise, as ‘Citizenship’ makes its deadly approach’?
    If we allow their subversion of values and interests to continue, we will, in future generations, lose all that our ancestors suffered and died for. We are forewarned, says Atkinson. A reading of history (it is all in mainstream historical accounts) tells us that we are about to lose the most precious thing we have—our individual freedoms.

    ‘What we are at present experiencing,’ writes Philip Trower in a letter to the author, ‘is a blend of two schools of thought; the Frankfurt School and the liberal tradition going back to the 18th century Enlightenment. The Frankfurt School has of course its remote origins in the 18th century Enlightenment. But like Lenin’s Marxism it is a breakaway movement. The immediate aims of both classical liberalism and the Frankfurt School have been in the main the same (vide your eleven points above) but the final end is different. For liberals they lead to ‘improving’ and ‘perfecting’ western culture, for the Frankfurt School they bring about its destruction.

    ‘Unlike hard-line Marxists, the Frankfurt School do not make any plans for the future. (But) the Frankfurt School seems to be more far-sighted that our classical liberals and secularists. At least they see the moral deviations they promote will in the end make social life impossible or intolerable. But this leaves a big question mark over what a future conducted by them would be like.’

    Meanwhile, the Quiet Revolution rolls forward.
