Diplomats have walked out of a racism conference today as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad condemned the Israeli government as racist. THIS FROM A GUY THAT HANGS GAYS AND YOUNG GIRLS THAT DARE TO FALL IN LOVE!!

As protesters shouted, diplomats poured out of the UN conference during Ahmadinejad’s speech, held on Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Ahmadinejad has questioned whether the Holocaust ever happened, and had repeatedly called for Israel’s destruction.

Washington and its major allies are already boycotting the conference, effectively ceding the spotlight to Ahmadinejad.

Ahmadinejad is one of the only major heads of state to accept an invitation to take part. France is also taking part – but has threatened to walk out if Ahmadinejad’s speech targets Israel.

His speech today, which falls on Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day, could ignite a political firestorm if he repeats previous claims Israel should be ‘wiped off the map’ and questioning whether the Nazi Holocaust occurred.

Israel angrily recalled its ambassador to Switzerland today to protest Swiss President Hans-Rudolf Merz’s meeting with Ahmadinejad late yesterday during which Merz pressed the case of a jailed American journalist in Tehran.

Even before he spoke, Ahmadinejad became the flash point of a conference already strongly divided over Muslim countries’ attempts to use it to denounce Israel and over their call for a global ban on criticizing Islam.

The United States announced Saturday it would boycott the weeklong meeting, which follows a 2001 conference in South Africa. Muslim condemnation of Israel at the earlier conference angered that country, and the United States, as well.

Organizers have sought to avoid the controversies that marred the earlier meeting but have encountered many of the same issues. Besides the United States and Israel, seven other countries – Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand and Poland – are also declining to participate. OUR OWN MAFIAOSA TERRORIST REGIME WAS THERE………….SHAME!

European Union spokeswoman Christiane Hohmann said that, while four EU nations had decided to boycott, others would push to ensure the document adopted by the conference was fair.

“It is essential that the current draft text … does not have any language on defamation of religion, of anti-Semitic nature or targeting specific countries or religions of the world,” Hohmann said.

Ahmadinejad’s attendance provoked outrage from Jewish groups and Israel. He has in the past questioned the Holocaust and called for Israel’s destruction.

In his opening speech Monday before thousands of ministers, diplomats and dignitaries at the U.N.’s European headquarters in Geneva, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon sought to show respect for Israel and Muslim countries alike.

He said racism “may be institutionalized, as the Holocaust will always remind us,” and can also manifest itself more generally, “as anti-Semitism, for example, or the newer Islamophobia.”

Ban condemned Holocaust denial and said “ignoring the historical fact of those terrible events increases the risk they will be repeated.”

He also warned that the global recession could fuel ethnic tension.

The meeting comes after months of heated negotiations over the proposed conference declaration, which Muslim countries wanted to condemn Israel for its treatment of Palestinians and to denounce defamation of religion, especially Islam.

Obama, speaking Sunday in Trinidad after attending the Summit of the Americas, said: “I would love to be involved in a useful conference that addressed continuing issues of racism and discrimination around the globe.”

But he said the language of the U.N.’s draft declaration risked a reprise of the previous conference, during which “folks expressed antagonism toward Israel in ways that were oftentimes completely hypocritical and counterproductive.”

“We expressed in the run-up to this conference our concerns that if you adopted all of the language from 2001, that’s not something we can sign up for,” Obama said.

Many Muslims are offended by perceived insults to Islam they claim have proliferated since the 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States. They cite the 2005 cartoons of Muhammad published by a Danish newspaper that later sparked riots in Muslim countries, and allegations that authorities in the West have targeted innocent Muslims through anti-terror and other police action.

But the demands of Muslim countries have been largely resisted by the United States and other Western nations, some of whom are participating in the conference.

“We’re here to adopt a declaration to fight racism and discrimination and we should be wary of any attempt to hijack this agenda to introduce unacceptable language,” said Norway’s Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store, one of the few European ministers attending.

‘The meeting between the president of a democratic country with an infamous Holocaust-denier such as the president of Iran, who calls for Israel’s destruction, does not mesh with the values that Switzerland represents and that are supposed to be represented at the U.N. conference on racism,’ the Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

President Barack Obama said Sunday that the United States would communicate with Iran about journalist Roxana Saberi through its Swiss intermediaries, which have officially represented U.S. interests in Iran since the American hostage crisis that began in 1979.

However the UK will still attend because of our broad shoulders and being home to every terrorist and despot in the world.
If the conference was an objective look at racism then perhaps these countries would attend but it isn’t and does not even look atthe atrocities and racist actions by many countries at the conference. The only country being singled out is Israel, yet Libya and its treatement of the black population went unmentioned. There are many countries at the conference who are guilty of many crimes yet not even questiooned about their actions.
So no surpirse why the normal level headed states will not attend

Wow, what a spectacle!! If this does nothing to ask questions as to this knucklehead’s mindset you may have to check you pulse to see if you are still alive. Mr. Ahmadinejad is a certified “Nut Case” as he has proven once again in Geneva. Add to this the fact that he actually has followers of his agenda and the results is multiple certified nut cases. To think that Preident Obama is considering speaking to this pretender is a out right shame. Send this knucklehead back to the stone age and let him strike two pieces of flint together rather than appease him and have his hands on nukes. Shame on all of us if we allow him to proceed with his hate and lies.

    • I hear that the British delegate walked out after the dinnerjacket ranted on about Isreali racism, What a joke what the hell, we all knew what would be said, surely to God they did too, if not, why are they holding such positions, they obviously place us all in danger.
