Mysterious Swedish Shootings Are Gladio-Style Attacks
How Soon We Forget
By Richard Cottrell
In the course of just six weeks, five people have been shot dead in execution-style murders in Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city. Each seems to be an act of shooting carefully pre-selected targets, for which the police have so far produced no explanation beyond a vague suggestion of “gangland violence.”
This explanation is scarcely convincing. Policemen are usually aware of the activities of criminals on their respective manors.
Gun laws are tight in Sweden. That being so, the examination of spent cartridges, bullet wounds and so forth should point very quickly to the type of weapon used. Yet we hear nothing concerning this important ballistic evidence.
It appears that in Malmo, the forces of law and order are sorely lacking in the expertise of forensic scientific services.
The question that I ask myself in these circumstances is: are witnessing another episode in the chain reaction of often mysterious and reputedly aimless gun atrocities committed in Europe over the past decade?
The Malmo attacks follow closely on those committed in Liege, Belgium, on December 13, 2011. There an alleged lone gunman killed five shoppers at a Christmas market, and injured another 125, before killing himself.
On the same day, an alleged far right militant shot two Senegalese street vendors in Italy’s artistic capital, Florence. The police say that the suspect made his last stand in an underground car park, where they shot him dead.
On July 22, 2011, an allegedly lone gunman, Anders Behring Breivik, was blamed and eventually convicted for a shooting rampage at a holiday camping island close to Oslo, in which 69 died.
Only hours before it is claimed that he planted a huge bomb in Oslo’s central government district which killed another eight.
Reaching back to September 27, 2001, we discover a parade of shooting atrocities across Europe that are always connected to a single confused individual.
In every case bar one, the gunman himself also dies. That one exception is Anders Breivik. He is still alive.
After weeks confined in a government medical center, he has been pronounced insane.
The roll call reads as follows:
September 27, 2001: a gunman bursts into a meeting of local councilors in the Swiss city of Zug, kills fourteen and then himself.
March 27, 2002: Nanterre, France: eight local councilors die and another nineteen are injured in a similar shooting rampage. The gunman commits suicide while in police custody.
April 26, 2002: A student kills sixteen staff and two pupils at a school in Erfurt, Germany. Following the pattern, he then kills himself.
November 7, 2007: Another school atrocity, in the Finnish town of Tuusula, thirty miles from the capital Helsinki. An 18-year-old kills eight people in an apparently motiveless attack, before executing himself.
September 23, 2008: Another school attack and again in Finland. The setting is the small town of Kauhajok. Eleven die at the hands of a 22-year-old gunman, who wounds himself in the head, then dies in custody.
March 11, 2009: Nine pupils, three teachers and three passers-by die in a shooting at a high school at Winnenden, in south west Germany. An apparently frustrated student then kills himself.
April 9, 2009: The Netherlands: a lone gunman runs amok in a shopping mall in the small town of Alphen aan den Rijn, about thirty miles from Amsterdam. He kills six shoppers – and then himself.
June 2, 2010: twelve die in another apparently motiveless shooting in and around the small town of Whitehaven in the English Lake District. The gunman, a 52-year-old taxi driver, pursues the established pattern and turns his gun on himself.
Now, in order to explore further elements of the pattern, we turn the clock back to Belgium in the mid-1980s. The years between 1982 and 1985 are well remembered by Belgians as those of the “Brabant Massacres.”
Masking their acts as robberies, a gang calling themselves the “Killers of Brabant,” taken from the bustling Flemish city where the murders occurred, indulged in a campaign of wanton violence.
They attacked shops, bars and supermarkets, in the course of which twenty-eight died another 20 were seriously injured in a rain of seemingly purposeless fire. The victims included shoppers queuing at supermarket tills or quietly packing their groceries in car parks.
All the killers remain at large, but these interesting facts have come to light: In 2006, the weapons and ammunition used in the attacks were traced to an allegedly defunct branch of the Belgian Gladio unit code-named SDRA8.
This unit was the “Special Intervention Squadron” – the one known within the Gladio command structure as the “Diana Organization.” That code name stood, in turn, for a group of experts in the arts of selected assassination.
It is now well known that that Belgium’s Gladio structures enjoyed close links to neo-Nazi groups and the powerful Belgian Mafia.
The acts were not as senseless as they appear to the surface. Nor were they conducted for gain. After one raid, a sack stuffed with money was found tossed in a stream.
Their aim was political: to create an atmosphere of manufactured or synthetic violence, designed to unsettle Belgians and instill a sense of fear of latent dangers lurking in their midst.
The official parliamentary inquiry that reported in 1990 concluded that “the gang were all members or former members of the security forces – extreme right wingers who enjoyed high level protection and were preparing a right wing coup.”
In this one statement we find a potentially interesting clue to the shootings across Europe over the past decade.
The blame is always pinned on isolated social misfits and losers.
Targets are selected to cause the maximum public shock and outrage – schools, a holiday camp, a shopping mall, street markets – and the sensitive Christmas season
With one exception (Breivik in Norway – and that may have been an oversight) the killers eliminate themselves, ruling out potentially awkward investigations.
It is never entirely clear from what source the killers obtain their weapons.
In several instance the perpetrators are known to the police.
Confused and rambling confessions.
All the attacks serve to maintain what used be called in old Gladio days as the “Strategy of Tension” – but which today in the post 9/11 world I prefer to call the “Strategy of Fear.”
Clearly, there are differences in the record, which suggest a wariness of advancing the case that “one size fits all.” Yet the sum of similarities is not to easily dismissed, either.
In every case there is an apparently mentally confused figure that so often stands out in these affairs as the well cultivated patsy or stooge. Think Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby in the US.
Or in Europe, Christer Pettersson, who is locked up in a Swedish mental institution for murder of Swedish premier Olof Palme in February 1986.
A tragic sequel, again in Sweden, witnessed the murder of the Swedish foreign minister Anna Lindh in a Stockholm department store on September 11, 2003.
Another drifter, a Swedish-born Serb called Mijailo Milalovic was convicted after a sham trial and he too is now in indefinite detention in a secure institution, exactly like Breivik in Norway.
It cannot be stated too often that Sweden is the only European state where a serving prime minister has been assassinated since the end of WWII.
His death, and subsequently that of his protégé, Anna Lindh, has played a significant role in replacing the traditional easy-going image of Sweden with the far darker one portrayed in the bleak crime novels of the late Stieg Larssen.
We may usefully bear that in mind when considering recent events in Malmo.
[Editor’s note: Cottrell’s upcoming book covers this Strategy of Tension in Europe and some of the instances he mentions briefly in this article in painstaking detail. If you want a better understanding of how this modern trend is emerging and its providence, I highly recommend you pick it up as soon as possible.]
Richard Cottrell is a writer, journalist and former European MP (Conservative). His new book Gladio: NATO’s Dagger At The Heart Of Europe is coming in January of 2012 from Progressive Press.

This is a hodge-podge of fact and fancy which leads nowhere, making me wonder why it is appearing now.
Olof Palme was not the only sitting European Prime Minister assassinated since WWII. Zoran Djindjic, the Serbian Prime Minister, was killed when he was going to meet Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh, Sweden’s next Prime Minister if she had not been assassinated too.
They were discussing how to mount dangerous blowback for the illegal ouster of Saddam Hussein, thanks to the completely false information that Ahmed Chalabi’s Iraqi National Congress had supplied about his alleged WMD, and where they were located during his ouster – what the Mossad had supported.
And Christer Pettersson is not locked up for the assassination of Palme. No one was ever locked up for the strategic killing by the Anglo-Americans in the hope of it triggering a non-nuclear conclusion to the Cold War with the Soviets. Fortunately, the plot was foiled by the spies in America who tipped Moscow off about what was afoot, and it adopted the appropriate countermeasures so that the Anglo-American surprise really got nowhere.
And just to make sure that it stayed that way, Pettersson died under suspicious circumstances so that the Stockholm assassination could again be conveniently forgotten about – what happened when another suspect in the killing, Viktor Gunnarsson, was murdered in North Carolina in the earlier 1990s.
Anyone who has studied the Palme murder knows that Gladio is conveniently brought in when researchers start looking at the Stockholm assassination, and it was likely to have been brought into the response of the killing if the Soviets had been caught by surprise by it.
In Palme’s killing, a decoy group, composed of German and Finnish speakers, and using walkie-talkies, was connectd to CIA initiated Stay-Behand structures in Sweden, and they would have been called into action if the shooting had started in the Kola Peninsula, and in Norway’s Finmark district.
And unlike these operations, Anders Breivik was a lone operator because he could not get his sponsors, the Mossad particularly, to go along with his increasingly, counter productive agenda.
Seems that covert governments are really getting worried about what they have been doing, and are spreading disinformation in the hope of preventing matters getting worse.

Thanks. Rob13. for picking up on the erroneous statements about Pettersson.
Got me thinking about the *Mad Austrian’ in the Palme killing. Seems that he was Josef Fritzl who was to take the rap if the set up Stig Bergling didn’t take the bait and flee to the USSR while he was on leave from prison on compassionate grounds to get married while Palme was being gunned down.
Fritzl, it seems, was identified by Palme’s son Mårten as his father’s killer, thanks to the prodding of eager-beaver detective Börje Wingren, only for the attempted coverup to completely fall apart when it was discovered that Fritzl had a solid alibi with a notorious prostitute for the murder.
Didn’t stop either Wingren or Fritzl, though. Wingren then claimed that Gunnarsson was the killer, leading to his convenient murder. And Fritzl, being blackmailed by the Mossad because of his violent sexual and physical ways, went on to dispose of Jörg Haider, the right-wing politician who was well on this way to becoming an Austrian PM.
Fritzl is now in a mental hospital for life, but he has already done all the damage he could.
Then there was the assassination of Pim Fortuyn, the Dutch politician who was on his way to become Holland’s PM.
No connections in any of this to Gladio, the Stay-Behind Forces.
(Seems like the established order should essentially be in mental institutions.)

This is just another such article that is getting more and more common in the VT.
A bunch of hodge-podge information and events, having absolutely nothing in common, but are made into an irish stew and you are asked to eat and enjoy it.
If you want to cook an irish stew you must have the proper ingridients, otherwise it is nothing but a garbage can.
I wonder who are those persons who write such a crap and think that they did a great job?

These murders are all connected by the web of parasites whose full and hidden worldwide control is being threatened by us slaves who are more intelligent, productive, healthy, and numerous than they. And growing more aware by the day.
But why is there a Swedish nexus? Is the geography such that they can experiment and practice with trial and error on live and fairly isolated subjects and using familiar cities to refine their perversions? Then they could run back to their cockroach hidey holes and review the day’s work, adjusting their findings for future use.
And another thing – remember that high tech underground condo-bunker that was said to be Osama’s, perhaps it is in fact one of theirs, maybe an old blueprint to bluff us, but it looked too detailed and sophisticated to be slapped together just to make the 10pm news. So whose was it?
And what was the story about Catherine Hurd, wife of Thomas Hurd of the UN Security Council, himself the son of Douglas Lord Hurd. As the official alibi goes, in May 2011 this happy mother of several children was packing and getting ready to return to the UK with her younger children ( she had 4 or 5 ) in preparation for their return to school. Then after cheerful interactions with her friends and neighbors she climbs to the top of her New York townhouse in the wee hours and jumps off, killing herself. Or so they say.
I don’t believe it for a second. She was bundled out of her apartment, dragged up to the roof, and thrown or pushed. But by whom and why? Did she stumble across something so revolting it caused her to react in such a way that she had to be eliminated instead of the usual threat?
The parasites are not only desperate but stupid, they don’t know when or how to stop. They are acting like every other skeevy street thug, only bigger. At some point even their official alibi writers in the media will have enough and tire of them and will no longer participate in murder no mattter how well it pays.

Ann, you are perfectly right to question anything, and connect it to something else if it seems to be true. We live in a most dirty world where almost anything is possible, and connected to something even dirtier.
In the case of Catherine Hurd’s death, I would just ask: Is it connected to the fact that her husband Thomas Robert Benedict Hurd is a MI6 agent, and was stationed in Warsaw in 1995, moved to Amman, Jordan in 1998, and then to Jerusalem in 2002 before then going to New York?
Seems like he could have been connected to Mossad plots to kill various people, especially that Hebollah leader, as I recall, in Jordan, and been involved in the extraordinary rendering of all kinds of people for torture, etc.
New York would seem to have been a pleasant respite from this process, and with it then seeming to be resuming with her husband going back to Lordon, the stretched out wife because of the rapidly expanding family pulled the plug.
This seems to me to far more than enough grounds for killing one’s self, but if there is more to it, and I find it, I will be the first to show that she was, indeed, ‘suicided’.

Well now, her husband does sound like a depraved and scurvy creep, but she must have known that before they were married or soon thereafter, and chose to stay. As for the growing family, theirs was and is the 20th-21st century and if they had a large family it was because that’s what they wanted, and I think she was probably quite happy in that normal, natural, and honorable role. Him not so much.
But averting her gaze from his odious job and skanky friends could only go just so far before she saw or heard something so disgusting that she drew the line and became a threat. There was far too much money to be had for her to jump when she could have dumped him, fleeced him, gone back to the UK with her children and be with her family and friends, she to a nice house, and he content with his roach nest and hookers.
And there is no such thing as a pleasant respite wherever destructive creatures like Hurd hold official power and stalk the world promoting conflict and carnage for sport.
UN my foot. They should change the name to Riverview Roach Motel.
