‘Scandalous’: Staff at 48 libraries in Derbyshire were ordered to remove collection boxes selling poppies
For decades they dutifully sold poppies without objection.
But then staff at nearly 50 libraries were ordered to remove their collection tins and boxes – in the name of equality.
Officials ruled they could not be seen to support ‘particular charities at the expense of others’.
The ban, which applied to all 48 libraries in Derbyshire, was yesterday described as ’scandalous’.
Staff were sent an email on October 28 warning them to remove any boxes from public areas ‘immediately’.
The memo, from Ann Ainsworth, the county council’s ‘Operations Manager, West’, said: ‘I need to reinforce that the County Council does not support specific charities and does not provide opportunities for any charities to collect donations via Derbyshire Libraries.
‘This ensures it maintains a neutral position and does not favour particular charities at the expense of others.
‘Clearly this also excludes collection boxes for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
‘Please ensure that collection boxes have not been accepted for public display during this year’s appeal in any of our buildings.’
A source said the order had angered staff at one of the affected libraries, in Whitwell.
Eddie Roper, who used to run the adjoining village community centre, said: ‘The staff can’t understand the decision. Nobody ever complained about it.

Villagers boycott pub after landlady refuses to sell poppies
‘Poppies raise money for the families of our war dead and our injured soldiers. By buying one we are honouring their memory.
‘They should be put back in the library immediately.’
Dorothy Reynolds, whose husband Dennis served in the Second World War, said he would not understand why poppies were not being sold
Dorothy Reynolds’ late husband Dennis served in the Second World War and ran the Whitwell Royal British Legion for 50 years.
The 79-year- old said: ‘My husband would walk five miles to make five pence for the Poppy Appeal. Now he would want to know why on earth the library cannot sell poppies.’
During the First World War, 140,000 men served in the county regiment – the Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire) Regiment. Some 11,409 were killed.
A further 1,520 out of 26,940 laid down their lives in the Second World War. The county’s Rolls Royce factory also played a crucial role in the war effort, producing the Merlin engines used in Spitfires and Hurricanes in the Battle of Britain.
Last night, after being contacted by the Daily Mail, Conservative-run Derbyshire County Council caved in and reversed its decision.
Council leader Andrew Lewer said: ‘We are wholehearted supporters of the Armed Forces and I am very happy for libraries to sell poppies on behalf of the British Legion.

Anne Ainsworth got the job because she can tick all the politically correct boxes no doubt she has a mission statement and is showing the council the way forward. They know all the right jargon and sound bites and bend over backwards to be seen to be fair but in the process annoy and offend millions of people in hundreds of towns and cities including the ”minorities” she thinks she is ”protecting” This organisation helps all servicemen and women who need help .The real scandal is that we need a charity to help these people in the first place. As for sacking Ainsworth try it and their will be a sex discrimination law suit winging its way to the council before the end of the day not unfair dismissal because that compo is capped tag sex on the end and it is unlimited

Don’t be silly, they are too busy filling in expense forms and finding new craetive ways of claiming or covering up previous unwarranted claims.
As for Ann Ainsworth and anyone else associated with this shamefull decision, hopefully they will be picking up their P45 and collecting their dole money soon as they obviously are under employed and have to think of ways of creating work for themselves.

Where does this put the BBC with their ‘Children in need’ appeal every year?
To subscribe to the ‘Poppy Appeal’ should be compulsory in my view given the level of sacrifices made to defend the liberty of the Nation notwithstanding the heavy levels of agony sufferred by our Forces in the present day. The population of the United Kingdom would not have the luxury to speak out, protest, and walk about freely were it not for the many tens of thousands of men and women who gave their lives, or suffered injury for the cause and we all have a duty to remember that.
This Ainsworth woman should be ashamed at herself as should the Government and another Ainsworth individual. Not related are they?

A Common Purpose?
Common Purpose (CP) is a Charity, based in Great Britain, which creates ‘Future Leaders’ of society. CP selects individuals and ‘trains’ them to learn how society works, who ‘pulls the levers of power’ and how CP ‘graduates’ can use this knowledge to lead ‘Outside Authority’.
Children, teenagers and adults have their prejudices removed. Graduates are ‘empowered’ to become ‘Leaders’ and work in ‘partnership’ with other CP graduates. CP claims to have trained some 30,000 adult graduates in UK and changed the lives of some 80,000 people, including schoolchildren and young people.
But evidence shows that Common Purpose is rather more than a Charity ‘empowering people and communities’. In fact, CP is an elitest pro-EU political organisation helping to replace democracy in UK, and worldwide, with CP chosen ‘elite’ leaders. In truth, their hidden networks and political objectives are undermining and destroying our democratic society and are threatening ‘free will’ in adults, teenagers and children. Their work is funded by public money and big business, including international banks.

THE ENEMY WITHIN…..OH YES!
The lies that form the Common Purpose of the BBC
Latest News 23/09/2009
Read the following by Sir Michael Lyons – Chairman BBC Trust, which appears on the Audience Council of England website.
“What we do. The BBC Trust exists to get the best out of the BBC for licence fee payers. Audience Councils form a vital link between the Trust and the public. During the past year, Audience Council England has assessed the services the BBC provides for the English licence fee payer and more widely for audiences across the whole of the UK.The pace of the Council’s work has stepped up, with a greater focus on engaging directly with audiences through the work of the 12 Regional Audience Councils. As part of the Trust’s overall work to better serve all audiences, during the year we hosted events for more than 400 young people aged between 17 and 21, resulting in some surprising insights into how young people consume broadcasting media.
The membership of ACE and RACs aims to reflect as fully as possible the diversity of the communities in each of the BBC’s broadcast regions. In an innovative approach for our volunteer members, they also visited families in their homes to find out more about what people expect and want from the BBC by way of entertainment.”
Notice the “BBC Trust exists to get the best out of the BBC for licence fee payers”. What Sir Michael Lyons fails to mention is the £158,100 that the BBC has spent on the political and pro EU charity Common Purpose.
It will come as no surprise therefore that even the BBC Audience Council is biased by Common Purpose trainees. Read on:
“Jill Hogan is Head of Marketing and Communications at Ravensbourne, a leading higher education institution specialising in digital media, design and innovation. She is responsible for the leadership and strategic development of public relations and stakeholder engagement programmes, internal communications, brand management and student recruitment.Jill has over 12 years experience in strategic marketing communications and public relations. Before joining Ravensbourne, she was Head of Communications at Arts Council England, South East. Jill has an honours degree in drama and postgraduate diplomas in arts management and public relations.
She is a Common Purpose graduate and a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Jill lives with her partner and two young children in Maidstone. Between them they consume many hours of wide-ranging BBC broadcast and online output every week.”

Common Purpose love affair with banks continues. Susan Rice Lloyds TSB Scotland (23/09/2008)
Edinburgh
Page from University of Edinburgh with summary of Mrs Susan Rice. An elitest banker, born in the USA, she is now Chief Executive of Lloyds TSB Scotland – the first woman to head a UK Clearing Bank. She is providing leadership and guidance on financial exclusion in the UK, and also sits on the Aberdeen Common Purpose Advisory Board. In this post she will help select and reject other people for Common Purpose training and reframing. Common Purpose was also keen to use the ‘leadership’ skills of elitest Lehman Brothers bank – more recently bankrupt on the back of their commercial and leadership skills.
Following her Common Purpose training Mrs Rice stated: “There are no easy answers. And Common Purpose is no easy ride. It challenges every personal and professional prejudice you have. It’s unsettling. It’s also the best learning I’ve ever done.
Mrs Rice’s comments should be unsettling to the general public. A charity training course unsettles a mature professional banker and exposes her prejudices. What so called prejudices has she had cured? What does she believe in now? That she is to CHANGE Britain and the world in line with the “Common Purpose”?

CP Diagrams showing Common Purpose’s organisation and Subversive technique (29/08/2008)
UK
This document contains an overview of the organisation of Common Purpose and the subversive technique used to infiltrate UK’s democracy, and inject Common Purpose ‘graduate’ CHANGE agents into the covert EU government structure already established in UK. At a city level Common Purpose recruits, uses and directs a relatively small number of key ‘graduates’ to exert total control over the governance of the particular City. Once in place, and operating via an unseen partnership, the CHANGE agenda from Fabian marxist think-tanks such as DEMOS and the YOUNG FOUNDATION, and many others, is executed in the direction, planning and management of the city. Once the Common Purpose ‘partnership’ is established, Democratically elected Councillors are side-lined, and become increasingly impotent.

Hazel Blears Fabian!! FXXX THE BRITISH—-FLEECE THEM FOR EVERY PENNY!
Hazel Blears praising CP
Dear Brian,
I have just found THIS – Hazel Blears praising CP, read it for yourself, unbelievable,
http://www.communities.gov.uk/speeches/communities/preventingviolentextremismnext
“…We are boosting our support for the Community Leadership Fund to
£1.2m, nearly double what it is today.
This will provide leadership training and advocacy courses to enable new
people, including women and the young, speak out and shape the future of
their communities.
Already we’ve seen great projects get off the ground – like Common
Purpose’s training programmes for emerging Muslim leaders. 50 people
have now been on the course. One participant welcomed it as a way for
new Muslim leaders to;
“…begin to understand, trust and most important engage with civil society
not as a tolerated minority but a contributing equal”.
Or MOSAIC Muslim Mentoring Scheme, encouraging young men and
women to aim high for their future in Lancaster, Leicester, London and
Yorkshire. I went to the launch event last year – 8 months on I’m pleased to
hear stories like Salwa’s, who said:
“It is especially encouraging to learn that someone from the same
background as me can be really successful and reach the top of their
profession by working hard work and being enthusiastic.”
I’ve also met the National Muslim Women’s Advisory Group several times
now, including earlier this week. They have now formulated a clear idea of
what they want to achieve over the next year and I’m looking forward to
them: telling the stories of inspirational women; improving the theological
understanding of women’s role in society: and encouraging more women to
get involved in their community as councillors, school governors, or
volunteers.
I’m also looking forward to the new Young Muslims’ Advisory Group getting
up and running later this year. They will speak directly to national
policymakers, helping us get a full picture of what is happening on the
ground and how it is affecting young people. We are looking for bright,
articulate and energetic people with the skills and confidence to shape
their communities. The call for nominations closes soon so if you know
someone who fits the bill, don’t hesitate.
But communities need to know that they have the support of civic leaders
too.
Over the next three years we will be providing £45m to support grassroots
groups building resilience to violent extremists’ messages.
This is a big increase. In two years’ time annual funding will reach £18m,
triple what it has been this past year.
Now I want to see real ambition from local authorities about what they can
help communities achieve.
This isn’t an optional add-on for councils, but a core part of what they
should be doing for the people they serve……”
Best wishes, Lisa.
