Finland: Finns flee immigrant-heavy schools
Meanwhile, a school in Berlin recently started offering a German language guarantee in order to lure back Germans.
————
Finnish parents are increasingly taking their kids out of schools with a heavy immigrant population. Families are even moving into different school districts to get their kids into schools with fewer immigrants.
One school in southern Finland says parents began pulling their children out of the school when the proportion immigrant kids reached 40 percent.
“We didn’t see a flight when the proportion of immigrant kids was 30 percent. But as we reached the 40 percent mark, an exodus began,†says the principal of the school, who wishes the name of his school not be published as it already suffers from a poor reputation.
The principal says most parents are discrete about the reasons for taking their kids out of the school; however, some families are more direct.
“In one case the parents said they pulled their child because the child’s class did not have a single ethnic Finnish boy, which the parents said contributed to their child having no friends,†explains the principal.

I don’t know if this deserves a posting (yet).
The Norwegian court administration is considering a ban on all religious and political clothing for court officials, following the debate on hijab in the police. According to the court administration the courts and judges are expected to be objective and neutral. The administration will meet with authroties and immigrant organizations. A decision is expected January 15th.
The decision will also apply to Sami traditional clothing.

Rotterdam: Moroccans compensated for talks with mayor
Moroccans in Rotterdam were paid to meet with mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb.
About 100 to 150 participants got up to 40 euro for meeting with the mayor for about 2.5 hours and talking about their success stories or problems. This happened during five so-called “Moroccan tables” [meetings] in which Aboutaleb mainly listened. Recently Antilleans in Rotterdam got similar expense returns.
The compensation came to light after angry Rotterdam residents saw a letter about it hanging on shop windows and Muslim butchers all over Rotterdam.
The Rotterdam municipality ordered the letter removed immediately from shop windows. “Those people are giving up two and a half to three hours of their time to speak with the mayor. It’s only normal that we compensate them for the trip and parking costs or for the baby-sitter. These are often people who are hard up, therefore it’s not so crazy to compensate them for it.”
Ronald Sorensen of Leefbaar Rotterdam thinks it’s ‘too crazy for words’. He says it’s idiotic that you get compensation for something which should be your moral duty, namely touching on problematic points in society.
