Atlas reader Noelle has been following the latest breaking news on the trial of the brutal torture, kidnapping and murder of Ilan Halimi. Noelle wrote me, “Ms. Geller, let me assure you that such a tragedy as befell Ilan Halimi would have been totally unthinkable during the 32 years that I lived in France. The country is now under siege”.
The trial of the “Muslim barbarian” ringleader Fofana and his 26 accomplices (it was more like 50) had been suspended: in a shocking display of proud Islamic Jew hatred (consistent with the most sacred teachings of the Koran), the brutal Halimi murder trial was suspended after the defendant spewed vile invectives and threw his “Arab shoes” across the courtroom at the jury. Throwing shoes at someone is a powerful insult in the Arab world.

La cour d’assises des mineurs de Paris a condamné vendredi soir le chef du «gang des barbares», Youssouf Fofana, 28 ans, à la réclusion criminelle à perpétuité assortie d’une mesure de sûreté de 22 ans… Les deux complices jugés les plus actifs, Samir Aït Abdelmalek, 30 ans, et Jean-Christophe Soumbou, 23 ans, ont écopé respectivement de 15 et 18 ans de réclusion… La jeune fille qui avait servi d’appât, mineure au moment des faits et aujourd’hui âgée de 21 ans, a été condamnée à neuf ans de prison.
My translation:
On Friday evening, Paris Criminal Court for minors sentenced Youssouf Fofana, aged 28, the head of the “Barbarians” gang, to life imprisonment plus special restrictive measures [applied to particularly dangerous criminals] for a period of 22 years… Two of his accomplices deemed the most active [in Ilan Halimi’s murder] Aamir Ait Abdelmalek, aged 30 and Jean-Christophe Soumbou, aged 23, received imprisonment sentences of 15 and 18 years respectively… The girl who lured Ilan Halimi into the trap, a minor at the time and today aged 21, was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment…
The news was made public just before Shabbat, late in the evening, apparently because the authorities were afraid of public disturbances. Actually, police forces had been posted around the Law Court where some demonstrators had nevertheless gathered. A rally should take place on Monday at the Ministry of Justice in Paris .
Apparently, Fofana, the Manson-like Muslim barbarian leader, is quite popular with the Muslim community in France.
Also FYI, here is a translation of my comment on the internet site that published the news:
Since only a death sentence would have served justice in this case, one can only hope that this monster’s inmates will loose no time in clearing the air around them by dispatching him to hell.
