In previous articles, I have referred to U.S. Minister to Austria John Motley’s 1861 expose of a conspiracy to break apart the U.S., creating a Gulf Empire with “unlimited Negroes” (slaves) producing unlimited cheap products. The same principle of economic slavery is at work today in Third World countries and is not dissimilar to what John D. Rockefeller used in the late 19th century, as men literally underbid each other to obtain employment from monopolists in the U.S.

The influence of these elitists like Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and J. P. Morgan was tremendous, even to the extent of enslaving the press. John Swinton (editorial page editor of THE NEW YORK TIMES, 1860-1870) told journalists on April 12, 1883, that “the business of the New York journalist is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon….We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumpingjacks; they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men.”

I have also written before how by the early 20th century, Rockefeller agents were in every hamlet in the land monitoring people, and how AMERICAN FABIAN editor W. J. Ghent said most men were “labor slaves.” People were considered (and still are considered) “human resources” to be managed.

The Rockefellers have also supported eugenic programs. In the 1920s, Rockefeller money heavily subsidized the German Mental Hygiene Movement. And according to Arthur Caplan’s edited 1992 volume on bioethics: “It was Dr. Alexis Carrel of the Rockefeller Institute and a Nobel Prize winner , who so loudly applauded the actions of the Germans and blatantly advocated mass murder of mental patients and prisoners.”

In the 1930s and during the Second World War, Rockefeller’s Standard Oil tankers were not attacked by the Nazis as were other tankers. And the German General Staff developed a secret plan for the fulfillment of Nazi goals beginning in 2 generations (1990s). High-ranking U.S. government official Sumner Welles described this plan in THE TIME FOR DECISION (1944) as involving gaining “a controlling influence in labor unions, in the banking world, in Chambers of Commerce, and, through these channels, an indirect influence in the press.”

The extent of Rockefeller’s control was growing so great that Robert A. Taft, after his defeat at the 1952 Republican National Convention, announced: “Every Republican candidate for President since 1936 has been nominated by the (Rockefeller) Chase National Bank.” In that same year (1952), John D. Rockefeller III founded the Population Council, which was supported by Senator Prescott Bush (father and grandfather to future Presidents), and which supported population control measures.

By the 1960s, the Rockefellers had supported the development of the IUD, an abortive device which does not prevent conception but rather the implantation of the conceived child. And in August 1965, Rockefeller actually wrote Pope Paul VI as follows regarding the Catholic Church’s lack of support for the IUD: “If I may speak perfectly frankly, the Church will be bypassed on an issue of fundamental importance to its people and to the well-being of mankind The flooding tide cannot be stopped or even slowed.”

In 1973, David Rockefeller founded the Trilateral Commission, which has a logo that almost looks like three 6s (666) with a “peace” symbol in the middle. And 3 years later, in Bob Woodward’s and Carl Bernstein’s THE FINAL DAYS (1976), Rockefeller protégé Henry Kissinger is quoted as saying that military men are “stupid, dumb animals to be used” as pawns in foreign policy.

Four years later, when Ronald Reagan was nominated for President in 1980, Kissinger visited Reagan at the Republican National Convention and “persuaded” a reluctant Reagan to choose George H. W. Bush to be his Vice-president. In February 1988, David Rockefeller would acknowledge Bush to be one of their own. But so, too, was Bill Clinton [Winthrop Rockefeller’s illegitimate child], as in November 1992, Marc Tucker would write to Hillary Clinton that he was in David Rockefeller, Jr.’s office and they were celebrating Bill Clinton’s victory.

As President Franklin Roosevelt revealed, nothing in politics happens by accident. Do you really think a peanut farmer from Georgia (Jimmy Carter) becomes President without being groomed as a member of Rockefeller’s Trilateral Commission? Do you really think a traffic engineer (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) becomes President of Iran without being a key supporter of the Ayatollah Khomeini, whose assumption of power was supported by Zbigniew Brzezinski, the first director of David Rockefeller’s Trilateral Commission and President Carter’s National Security Adviser? And do you really think a physics teacher (Javier Solana) becomes Secretary-general of the European Union (via Section 666 of the Europa Code, and has an office in a building modeled after an unfinished Tower of Babel) just by accident?

Solana (see “Caution: The Dialectic Process at Work” and “Javier Solana and The End Times“) is part of Cecil Rhodes’ plan “to take the government of the whole world,” working with Rockefeller and others. When David Rockefeller was chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR, 1970-1985), its journal FOREIGN AFFAIRS in April 1974 published an article by Rhodes scholar Richard Gardner about how they would achieve their planned world order by “eroding national sovereignty piece-by-piece” and using GATT (including the World Trade Organization) to do it. The CFR was an outgrowth of Rhodes’ plan, which also included Rhodes scholars.

During the 1992 presidential campaign, Gardner was adviser to Bill Clinton (Rhodes scholar) on U.N. matters. On January 13, 1993, Clinton nominee for Secretary of State Warren Christopher and Senator Joe Biden discussed how NATO could become a peacekeeping surrogate for the U.N. specifically to further the “new world order.” Gardner was then appointed U.S. Ambassador not to England nor France nor Germany nor Russia, etc., but specifically to Spain, where Javier Solana was located. Rhodes scholar General Wesley Clark was made military head of NATO, and then Clinton, Strobe Talbott (number 2 at the State Department, and Clinton’s Rhodes scholar housemate), and Gardner selected Solana to be political head of NATO. Within weeks of Solana’s appointment, he signed on December 21, 1995, The New Transatlantic Agreement (see “Global Integration“) with the U.S., furthering Rhodes’ plan (as revealed by his Association of Helpers member P. E. Corbett in POST-WAR WORLDS) to form regional alliances which then could be linked into a World Socialist Government.

In previous articles, I have quoted David Rockefeller in his MEMOIRS admitting that he is part of a secret cabal conspiring to bring about a world government. Remember, he told Congressman William Dannemeyer that some men were born to rule, but most men were born to be ruled. This is the power elite’s mindset. And in case you doubt that what the elite have planned for us is enslavement, just read the following quote (especially the last 2 sentences) from “Winners and Losers in the Information Age,” published in the November-December 1996 edition of SOCIETY (one year after Solana’s appointment) and written by Ian Angell of the London School of Economics (founded by the Fabian Socialists): “Individuals and companies are setting up large transnational networks that pay absolutely no heed to national boundaries and barriers….Those who rap themselves in the flag can soon expect to be buried in it….We can expect massive civil unrest and disorder….Government, like all other organizations, will have to survive economically on the efforts of an elite few—-and no nation-state has an automatic right to exist….Governments will have no other choice other than to acquiesce to the will of global enterprise….As far as global enterprises are concerned, liberal democracy is an artifact…(which) will soon mutate into irrelevancy. It will be merely the means of governing the immobile and dependent social workers. That citizens elect their slave masters makes democracy slavery none the less….The masses will not win in the natural selection for dominance of an increasingly elitist world.”

Are there any signs of slavery today? Just look at the January 26, 2007, Reuters column “N.Y. scanners spark union cries of ‘geoslavery’.” Then look at the January 30, 2007, WASHINGTON TIMES article “Prague to Curb Work Visas” with subscript “Koreans work in Czech factories under what one human rights organization has described as ’slave’ conditions.” And finally, look at the World Trade Organization (WTO) November 13, 2006, press release “WTO Announces Formalized Slavery Model for Africa,” presented at the Wharton Business School in Philadelphia by WTO representative Hanniford Schmidt. If someone like Ronald Reagan had said this 25 years ago, he would have been pilloried. But have you seen any big outcry about this in the media or press? No. In fact, Schmidt was thanked for his macroscopic perspective by Dr. Laurie Ann Agama (director of African Affairs at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative).

Remember, the WTO has literally told the U.S. Congress which federal laws Congress had to change to comply with WTO rulings, and Congress has complied. Therefore, don’t be surprised if one day in the future there is a WTO press release titled “WTO Announces Formalized Slavery Model for the U.S.” That could mean slavery for you!

But, you say, the American people will never tolerate such (economic) enslavement. Well, let me explain how this works. First, you have Presidents and Congresses who facilitate the destruction of American jobs. For example, U.S. tax laws for a long time have said if a corporation relocates a factory overseas and repatriates its profits back into the U.S., the corporation has to pay taxes on those profits. But if the corporation keeps its profits overseas, they are not taxed! Could there be any greater incentive for corporations to destroy American workers’ jobs and keep their profits away from the U.S.?

What might change this, of course, would be press and media publicity. However, the strategy of J.P. Morgan (mentioned earlier in this series in dealing with this is just as effective today. In March 1915, the J.P. Morgan interests began a strategy to control the most influential newspapers in the U.S. by purchasing them. Similarly, the Macquarie Media Group recently purchased for $80 million American Consolidated Media, which publishes 40 newspapers in Texas and Oklahoma that have opposed the TransTexas Corridor.

Macquarie Media Group is a subsidiary of Macquarie Group Australia, which also owns Macquarie Infrastructure Group. And this latter group is an investment partner with Cintra (of Spain) in a 99-year lease of the Chicago Skyway toll road and a 75-year lease on the Indiana Toll Road. Cintra will manage the TransTexas Corridor, and on January 11, 2007, President Bush nominated David James Gribbin (former division director for Macquarie in Washington, DC) to be general counsel of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Don’t count on Gribbin opposing Macquarie’s or Cintra’s efforts in the U.S. Don’t count on the mainstream press or media exposing these efforts. And don’t count on Presidents or Congresses to stop tax incentives for corporations to send American manufacturing jobs and money overseas, to stop outsourcing American high-tech jobs to people in other countries, and to stop foreign guest workers from taking American service industry jobs in the U.S. Given all this, the future economic enslavement of Americans is not an impossibility!

“Get them in debt” for centuries has been a slogan used by the power elite to control individuals and entire nations. Regarding America, one of the driving forces behind the conflict between Britain and Americans 240 years ago was the colonies’ printing of their own currencies in the mid-1700s. This represented an independence from the power elite, which the latter began conspiring to crush.

The formation of the Illuminati in 1776, the year of the American Declaration of Independence, was not by the lower class but by an elite group of “philosopher kings” determined to overthrow existing monarchical and religious authority. In league with powerful financial interests, these elitists desired to ensconce themselves as philosophical rulers over the masses.

When the Illuminati was uncovered in the 1780s by the Bavarian police, they were not destroyed but rather dispersed to many places, including France where they formed the Parisian Outlaws League and helped foment the French Revolution in 1789. They also strategically placed themselves as tutors to young princes so they could influence them as future rulers (e.g., Alexander I in Russia in the early 1800s).

Three years after the French Revolution began, in the July 1792 edition of AMERICAN MUSEUM (and NATIONAL GAZETTE), Philip Freneau tried to warn the American people about the power elite’s plan to take control of the young independent republic of the United States. “Independence” is not long tolerated by the power elite. I quote Freneau at length in my book THE ROAD TO SOCIALISM AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER, and a primary part of the power elite’s plan was the creation of debt “made as big as possible, as perpetual as possible, in as few hands as possible.” And 6 years after Freneau’s article appeared, President George Washington wrote a letter on October 24, 1798, expressing his concern about the Illuminati presence in the U.S. (letter reproduced in my NOW IS THE DAWNING OF THE NEW AGE NEW WORLD ORDER).

Early in 1811, there was an attempt to recharter the Bank of the United States, but it was rejected because there was resentment against the largely British power elite’s ownership of the bank’s stock. Not to be thwarted, the power elite knew that a war is always useful to force a nation back into line, thus the War of 1812 with Britain. As a result of the financial hardships created by the war, on March 14, 1816, Americans reluctantly chartered the Second Bank of the United States.

According to WEBSTER’S GUIDE TO AMERICAN HISTORY, the bank became “a symbol of monopoly, aristocracy, and corporate power” to various groups, and its charter renewal was opposed by President Andrew Jackson. An assassin unsuccessfully attempted to kill Jackson, but the assassin informed investigators that he had powerful allies in Europe supporting him.

During this same period, the Parisian Outlaws League evolved in Europe into the League of the Just, which paid Karl Marx to write the Communist Manifesto (1848). Marx based his thesis on the French Revolution’s Comte de Saint-Simon’s Socialist principles taught to Marx by his father-in-law Ludwig von Westphalen. While Marx presented his ideas as designed to help the working class, the power elite used Marx’s monopolistic Socialism to further its goals via government rules and regulations (see 1911 cartoon showing power elite members welcoming Marx and his Socialism to Wall Street, reproduced in my THE ROAD TO SOCIALISM AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER).

Thwarted in its attempt to maintain control over the U.S. by rechartering the Second Bank of the United States, the global power elite developed a strategy of breaking up the U.S. Though the planter class of the South comprised only about 7% of the South’s population, it was supported by the global power elite and it was the primary force behind Confederate secession (93% of Southerners owned NO slaves).

On March 15, 1861, John L. Motley (U.S. Minister to Austria) wrote to his mother about “the great conspiracy to establish the Southern Republic, concocted for twenty years, and brought to maturity by Mr. (President) Buchanan’s Cabinet Ministers.” Motley also in 1861 wrote a letter to the LONDON TIMES explaining that the conspiracy was “to establish a great Gulf Empire, including Mexico, Central America, Cuba and other islands, with unlimited cotton fields and unlimited negroes—this is the golden vision in pursuit of which the great Republic has been sacrificed, the beneficent Constitution subverted.”

Once again, a war was created with the power elite’s hope that the North would be driven into debt. President Lincoln, however, began to print Greenbacks, making the power elite furious. In M.W. Walbert’s THE COMING BATTLE (1899), the author referred to an 1865 editorial by the LONDON TIMES, which stated regarding Lincoln having the U.S. government print its own money to avoid indebtedness to the power elite: “It will have all the money that is necessary to carry on its trade and commerce. It will become prosperous beyond precedent in the history of the civilized nations of the world. The brain and wealth of all countries will go to North America. That government must be destroyed….” On April 14, 1865, Lincoln was assassinated, just 5 months after writing November 21, 1864, to William Elkind expressing his concern about “the money power of the country” and how they might destroy the Republic.

Texas cotton grower, Thomas House, an agent of the power elite, after the Civil War prepared his son, Col. Edward M. House, to follow in his footsteps. Col. House would guide President Woodrow Wilson toward enactment of the power elite’s Federal Reserve (1913), which would place the U.S. in ever greater debt. The concept of a Federal Reserve had been developed in the late 1800s by Col. Elisha Garrison, member of the secret elitist Skull & Bones society. Fellow Bonesman William Whitney at the same time developed a strategy to control both major political parties and alternate power between them so the public thought it had a choice when it didn’t. Also at the same time, “philosopher king” Fabian Socialists in Britain formed and linked with the power elite members of Cecil Rhodes’ secret Society of the Elect, which was designed “to take the government of the whole world.” The Fabians and Rhodes promoted Socialism, while Col. House (President Wilson’s chief adviser) supported “Socialism as dreamed of by Karl Marx” (quote from House’s PHILIP DRU: ADMINISTRATOR).

The goal as expressed in the 1930s by early Fabian H.G. Wells was to synthesize Western Capitalism and Eastern Communism into a World Socialist Government. And in 1942, P.E. Corbett, a member of Rhodes’ Association of Helpers, explained in POST-WAR WORLDS that their goal would be accomplished by linking regional economic arrangements. Rhodes scholar Richard Gardner in FOREIGN AFFAIRS (April 1974) described how they would use GATT to undermine national sovereignty.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS is published by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), founded by Col. House and other agents of the power elite. And GATT is part of the “Western scheme of free trade,” foretold by Robert Hugh Benson in LORD OF THE WORLD (1907), which described the American Socialism to come. Rhodes scholar President Bill Clinton saw to it that NAFTA and GATT were approved not long after he became President in 1993 and wrote a letter of support to the World Federalist Association.

In 1996, I wrote a booklet CONSPIRACY explaining what the future would be like under “The Order.” Among what I predicted was The Order’s “management” of people, including exercise and diet. I indicated that if people didn’t “voluntarily” exercise and eat what The Order determined they should, insurance premiums would increase. Sure enough, ten years later on December 28, 2006, an article appeared regarding a poll stating: “73% said they would support government incentives for companies that reduced the cost of health care insurance for employees who adopt healthier lifestyles and shed extra weight.”

This is how the power elite works. Remember immediately after the attacks of 9/11, there was a poll showing two-thirds of Americans would be willing to give up some of their freedoms in order to have safety, and shortly thereafter we got the Patriot Act taking away some freedoms. And remember we saw the torture of Abu Ghraib not long after a poll showed two-thirds of Americans would support torturing prisoners in the war on terror (which has increased our debt).

Another way the power elite works, as I have described in previous articles, is by psychological probes to see what the American people will tolerate. Just last month, President Bush had a “signing statement” attached to the postal reform bill on December 20, 2006, indicating that in emergencies or foreign intelligence cases, Americans’ mail could be opened without judicial warrants. Do you really believe terrorists are going to communicate with each other via the slow, unreliable U.S. postal service? Of course, they’re not. This “signing” was actually a psychological probe to see Americans’ reaction to yet another erosion of our rights.

The power elite’s plan for America has not just involved economics and politics, but religion as well. Using the historical tension (wars) between Protestants and Catholics, the power elite dialectically used “separation of church and state” to undermine the influence of traditional religious values on American life and government. Via the Delphi technique, fundamentalist Christians have been portrayed as right-wing extremists wanting to impose their morality on everyone. Thus, America has become increasingly secularized, and the power elite can therefore call for “what values we all have in common.”

The power elite is using internationally this same principle. For example, when one doesn’t look at Iraq logically but rather in terms of the power elite’s goals, one doesn’t see the sectarian violence between Sunnis and Shiites as undermining American efforts, but something quite different. (Just as the pictures of Abu Ghraib didn’t surface by accident, do you really believe the photos of Saddam Hussein’s hanging were allowed and circulated to the media by accident?) Rather, the Sunnis vs. Shiite violence is used to weary the combatants so they will accept secularization via “separation of mosque and state.” The participants are told this is the only way to avoid an expanded war involving other Muslim nations, and the Wahhabites are also described as the extremist element in the scenario.

A larger war involving Iran is presented as avoidable only by deposing the religious mullahs with a secular regime (perhaps under Dr. Froud Fouladvand, formerly with the Shah of Iran who was also brought to power and deposed as part of the power elite’s plan). The CIA, of course, will assist in this, just as they helped overthrow [duly elected] Iranian leader Mohammad Mossadegh in 1953. Why do you think U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan, Ryan Crocker, is replacing Zalmay Khalilzad in Iraq?

OUR FEUDAL FUTURE

In the 1950s, I used to watch a TV show called “Robin Hood” in which the hero was also called the Earl or Baron of Locksley. I didn’t think much about it at the time, but then I learned President Harry Truman used to carry in his pocket part of an 1842 poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson called “Locksley Hall.” The part Truman carried with him predicted a “parliament of man, the federation of the world” with “universal law,” and Truman explained “That’s what I have been working for.”

Later in the 1950s, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund Special Studies Project produced THE MID-CENTURY CHALLENGE TO U.S. FOREIGN POLICY, in which one reads: “We cannot escape, and indeed should welcome, the task which history has imposed upon us.

This is the task of helping shape a new world order in all its dimensions—spiritual, economic, political, social.” I thought it strange that the powerful Rockefellers would use the word “spiritual” first in the “new world order,” but then I reflected upon who Robin Hood was. He had also been referred to as Robin of Greenwood or Green Robin, named for the Green Man, who was the Celtic vegetation god.

Thus pagan gods and goddesses will be acceptable in the spiritual new world order. Before President George H.W. Bush called for a “new world order,” Soviet dictator Mikhail Gorbachev called for it, and Gorbachev is now head of Green Cross International (note especially the words “Green” and “Cross”). Gorbachev (along with Maurice Strong) is also responsible for the Earth Charter, which Gorbachev and Strong both have stated will be like a new Ten Commandments. And they have placed the Charter (written by Steven Rockefeller) in the Ark-of-Hope, modeled after the Ark of the Covenant. Do you get the religious symbolism?

On June 25, 2001, the U.S. Conference of Mayors passed a resolution stating that the conference “endorses the Earth Charter and commits the organization to the realization of its aim.” And one of the main goals of the Earth Charter is to “promote the equitable distribution of wealth within nations and among nations.” Thus, just as Robin Hood “redistributed wealth” in feudal times, under the Earth Charter the wealth of primarily middle class Americans will be given to people in other nations.

While the Earth Charter has been paraded around the world (including the U.S.), display of the Ten Commandments in public places has come under attack. However, pagan gods and goddesses can be found across our land in public places. Among the goddesses is Themis (blindfolded with scales), who can be found in nearly every courthouse (from which the Ten Commandments are being removed).

It seems that today we’re going “back to the feudal,” not only spiritually, but economically, politically, and socially as well. Spiritually, the Crusaders of feudal days have been replaced by New Agers worshipping Mother Gaia and those promoting a “common faith” (one-world religion) for all. Abbots and friars in feudal times have been replaced by religious syncretists today, magicians and wizards by New Age occultists.

Socially, troubadours and court jesters have been replaced by the media and press. Recent fashions have included women’s leotard-style pants and hairstyles like men wore in feudal days, along with pan flutes (feudal music).

Politically, the King becomes Big Brother, princes and princesses become international bankers, Knights of the Round Table become members of Cecil Rhodes’ Round Table Groups, the Sheriff (of Nottingham) becomes the U.N. Secretary-General with his blue-helmet troops, dukes and duchesses become corporate heads, lords and overlords become world government leaders, earls become heads of nations, viscounts become legislative leaders, and barons and baronesses become state governors.

Economically, there was no middle class in feudal times, and that’s exactly why there is an assault upon the middle class today. The tax burden today is largely borne by the middle class, which pays a higher percentage of its income in taxes than the serfs of feudal days paid from what they produced. Small businessmen (regulated by bureaucrats) today have become like feudal vassals on fiefs. You and I are like the peasants of feudal times. We’re called “human capital” or “human resources,” and are to be “managed” like feudal “human chattel.”

The famous author Jack London in THE IRON HEEL (1907) said that OUR BENEVOLENT FEUDALISM (1902) by W.J. Ghent (editor of THE AMERICAN FABIAN) was “the textbook” the “Oligarchs” would use to rule in the future. London stated that the Oligarchs and Plutocrats would have new ways “of molding the thought processes of the nation,” and that the banks would constitute “one of the most important forces of the Oligarchy….The labor castes, the Mercenaries, and the great hordes of secret agents and police…were all pledged to the Oligarchy….The condition of the people of the abyss was pitiable….All their old liberties were gone. They were labor-slaves. Choice of work was denied them. Likewise was denied them…the right to bear or possess arms. They were not land-serfs like the farmers. They were machine-serfs and labor-serfs.”

In Ghent’s article, “The Next Step: A Benevolent Feudalism,” published in THE INDEPENDENT (April 3, 1902), he predicted that “the coming status…will be something in the nature of a benevolent feudalism.…Group fidelity…is already observable….The autocrats…will distribute benefits to the degree that makes a tolerant, if not satisfied, people….A person of offensive activity may be denied work in every feudal shop and on every feudal farm from one end of the country to the other….His actions will be promptly communicated to the banded autocracy of dukes, earls and marquises of industries….The individual security of place and livelihood of its members will then depend on the harmony of their utterances and acts with the wishes of the great nobles; and so long as they rightly fulfill their functions their recompense will be generous.

They will be at once the assuagers of popular suspicion and discontent and the providers of moral and intellectual anodynes for the barons….A host of economists, preachers and editors will be ready to show indisputably that the evolution taking place is for the best interests of all….What the barons will most dread will be the collective assertion of the villeins at the polls, but this, from experience, they will know to be a thing of no immediate danger. By the putting forward of a hundred irrelevant issues they can hopelessly divide the voters at each election; or, that failing, there is always to be trusted as a last resort the cry of impending panic….Two divisions of the courtier class are the judges and the politicians….They must satisfy the demands of the multitude, and yet, on the other hand, they must obey the commands from above….The nobles will have attained to complete power, and the motive and operation of Government will have become simply the registering and administering of their collective will….Armed force will, of course, be employed to overawe the discontented and to quiet unnecessary turbulence. Unlike the armed forces of the old feudalism, the nominal control will be that of the State….When the new order is in full swing…so comprehensive and so exact will be the social and political control that it will be exercised in a constantly widening scope….Peace (and stability) will be the main desideratum….A happy blending of generosity and firmness will characterize all dealings with open discontent….(To) the prevention of discontent…the teachings of the schools and colleges, the sermons, the editorials…and even the plays at the theaters will be skillfully and persuasively molded.”

Isn’t this an accurate description of what we are witnessing today? The power elite educationally has dumbed-down the populace and considers us no better than the knaves and oafs of feudal times. Their attitude is exemplified by what David Rockefeller told Congressman William Dannemeyer: “There are some men born to rule. Most men are born to be ruled.”

The power elite simply ordered their puppets in the White House and Congress to approve NAFTA and GATT even though an overwhelming majority of Americans opposed both. Then through globalization, they sent manufacturing jobs overseas, outsourced high-tech jobs, and imported guest workers to perform lower-skilled jobs.

Why do Americans allow this to happen? It’s because their retirement funds are in 401Ks that are heavily invested in transnational corporations whose profits increasingly come from outside the U.S. Thus, to criticize globalization is to jeopardize one’s own retirement funds. So the masses today are kept entertained by sports (like jousts and archery contests of feudal times), music (by the equivalent of feudal minstrels), and by TV soap operas and sitcoms (like feudal puppet shows). As long as Americans are willing to be kept fat, dumb and happy, it seems futile to think our future will not be feudal.

THE POWER ELITE EXPOSED

The nation’s immediate problem is that while the common man fights America’s wars, the intellectual elite sets its agenda. Today, whether the West lives or dies is in the hands of its new power elite: those who set the terms of public debate, who manipulate the symbols, who decide whether nations or leaders will be depicted on 100 million television sets as ‘good’ or ‘bad.’ This power elite sets the limits of the possible for Presidents and Congress. It molds the impressions that move the nation, or that mire it.

Popular national radio talk-show host [idiot] Rush Limbaugh repeatedly refers to anyone who believes in a one-world government conspiracy involving the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) as a “kook.” However, on his February 7, 1995 program, he remarked: “You see, if you amount to anything in Washington these days, it is because you have been plucked or handpicked from an Ivy League school – Harvard, Yale, Kennedy School of Government – you’ve shown an aptitude to be a good Ivy League type, and so you’re plucked so to speak, and you are assigned success. You are assigned a certain role in government somewhere, and then your success is monitored and tracked, and you go where the pluckers and the handpickers can put you.”

While there are conspiracies going on in the world today, the pursuit of world government now is no longer conspiratorial in the sense of being hidden or secret. Rather, it’s what socialist author H.G. Wells called “The Open Conspiracy,” as prominent people such as Bill Clinton have openly written in support of world government. It will probably be a World Socialist Government, synthesizing western capitalism and eastern communism. In fact, Joseph Stalin in a speech at Sverdlov University in April 1924 pronounced that “the amalgamation and collaboration of nations within a single world system of economy… constitutes the material basis for the victory of socialism.” And regarding what world government will ultimately mean, it will be authoritarian and repressive, for as Lord Acton wrote: “Absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

In 1891, gold and diamond magnate Cecil Rhodes formed a secret society, the Society of the Elect, to “absorb the wealth of the world” and “to take the government of the whole world,” according to Rhodes. According to Prof. Carroll Quigley, Bill Clinton’s mentor at Georgetown University, in The Anglo-American Establishment, Rhodes’ conspiratorial secret society lasted almost 60 years. By that time, enough members of the society and Rhodes scholars had penetrated the areas of politics, economics, journalism and education, so that the society was simply replaced by a network of power elite, who would openly pursue world government.

According to Quigley, “The [Rhodes] scholarships were merely a façade to conceal the secret society, or, more accurately, they were to be one of the instruments by which members of the secret society could carry out Rhodes’ purpose.” And in case anyone doubts the credibility of Prof. Quigley regarding this matter, The Washington Post article (March 23, 1975) about him and his information obtained from the power elite’s “secret records” was titled, “The Professor Who Knew Too Much.”

Cecil Rhodes’ secret society was comprised of a small “Circle of Initiates” and a larger semi-secret “Association of Helpers” which formed Round Table Groups.

Rhodes scholars today will tell you that Rhodes abandoned his conspiratorial plans, instead opting simply to establish Rhodes scholarships. However, Association of Helpers member Arnold Toynbee, a world famous British historian, revealed in a June 1931 speech to the Institute for the Study of International Affairs at Copenhagen: “We are at present working discreetly with all our might to wrest this mysterious force called sovereignty out of the clutches of the local nation states of the world. All the time we are denying with our lips what we are doing with our hands, because to impugn the sovereignty of the local nation states of the world is still a heresy for which a statesman or publicist can perhaps not quite be burned at the stake but certainly ostracized or discredited.” (See “The Trend of International Affairs Since The War” in the November 1931 edition of the Royal Institute of International Affairs’ journal International Affairs.) This was decades after Rhodes established his scholarships.

Members of the Round Table Groups along with members of the Fabian (Socialist) Society as well as “the Inquiry” (a group formed by President Woodrow Wilson’s chief advisor, Col. Edward M. House) formed the Royal Institute of International Affairs in Great Britain, and its American branch, the CFR. Both Prof. Quigley in Tragedy and Hope and CFR member Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. in A Thousand Days have referred to the CFR as a “front” for the power elite. And in Men and Powers, former West Germany chancellor Helmut Schmidt referred to the CFR as “the foreign policy elite,” which prepared people for “top-level missions” in government and “other centers of international policy” and “had very silent but effective ways of seeing to its own succession.”

Members of Rhodes’ secret society networked with Fabian Socialists, who established the London School of Economics in 1895. One early Fabian, H.G. Wells, in New Worlds for Old explained what he called “a plot,” whereby heads of state would come and go, but bureaucrats trained at the London School of Economics, for example, would remain in government making rules and regulations furthering the goals of the Fabian Socialists. Wells broke with the Fabians, not in terms of goals, but only in believing they should be open about them, as he explained the coming synthesis of western capitalism and eastern communism into a world socialist government. In this regard, he authored The Open Conspiracy: Blue Prints for a World Revolution (1928) and The New World Order (1939), in which he said sovereign states (nations) would end and “countless people… will hate the new world order… and will die protesting against it.”

The power elite understood that it would be difficult to get the people of the world to accept a world government all at once, and so a gradualistic approach was suggested. Association of Helpers member and Canadian Rhodes scholar P.E. Corbett in Post-War Worlds (1942) wrote: “A world association binding together and coordinating regional groupings of states may evolve toward one universal federal government…. World government is the ultimate aim, but there is more chance of attaining it by gradual development.” More recently, at Mikhail Gorbachev’s first State of the World Forum in 1995, Zbigniew Brzezinski (President Jimmy Carter’s National Security Advisor) announced that we “cannot leap into world government through one quick step, but rather via progressive regionalization.”

During the presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the trend toward socialism was obvious, but even after World War II it continued, as U.S. Rep. Carroll Reece on April 6, 1956 delivered a speech saying, “We approach closer and closer to socialism [i.e. monopoly capitalism for the Elite],” and “The foundation-financed cartel promotes the idea of government by an elite.” One of the elite was Rhodes scholar Walt Rostow who, in The United States in the World Arena (1960), proposed “an end to nationhood as it has been historically defined.” He became Deputy National Security Advisor for President John F. Kennedy, whose Secretary of State was Rhodes scholar Dean Rusk, who in September 1961 issued “Freedom From War: The U.S. Program for General and Complete Disarmament in a Peaceful World.”

The same year “Freedom From War” was issued, another Rhodes scholar, Richard Gardner, became Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and three years later, while still in that position, authored In Pursuit of World Order. The Foreword to this book was written by Rhodes scholar Harlan Cleveland, who has been a CFR member, Ambassador to NATO, Director of International Affairs at the Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies, and Chairman of the U.S. Weather Modification Advisory Board. Cleveland’s books include The Third Try at World Order, Birth of a New World, and The Global Commons: Policy for the Planet.

How would “World Order” be pursued? In the April 1974 edition of the CFR’s Foreign Affairs, Richard Gardner wrote in “The Hard Road to World Order,” that it would involve “an end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece.” He believed that approach would “accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault,” and he further explained how GATT could be involved in the process. Gardner would eventually become an advisor on the United Nations to CFR member Bill Clinton’s first presidential campaign, after which he would become U.S. Ambassador to Spain, from which would come Marxist Javier Solana as the head of NATO with the support of the Clinton administration.

Bill Clinton had become a Rhodes scholar in the late 1960s with support from Prof. Quigley and Rhodes scholar U.S. Senator J. William Fulbright, who had authored Old Myths and New Realities (1964), announcing: “Indeed, the concept of national sovereignty has become in our time a principle of international anarchy…. The sovereign nation can no longer serve as the ultimate unit of personal loyalty and responsibility.”

During then Governor Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign, his Rhodes scholar roommate at Oxford University, CFR director Strobe Talbott, wrote in Time (July 20, 1992) that “perhaps national sovereignty wasn’t such a great idea after all…. But it has taken the events in our own wondrous and terrible century to clinch the case for world government.” For that article, Talbott would receive the World Federalist Association’s “Norman Cousins Global Governance Award,” and on June 22, 1993, President Clinton would send a congratulatory letter to the WFA regarding the award, saying that previous WFA president Norman Cousins had worked for world peace “and world government.” President Clinton ended the letter by wishing the WFA “future success.” The WFA’s objective is world federal government, and in 1994 it published The Genius of Federation: Why World Federation Is the Answer to Global Problems, in which it strategized: “Let the U.N. establish new agencies such as the International Criminal Court…. National sovereignty would be gradually eroded until it is no longer an issue. Eventually a world federation can be formally adopted with little resistance.” In November 2003, the WFA merged with the Campaign for United Nations Reform to form a new organization called Citizens for Global Solutions with the motto “Building a World Community Under Law.”

During his presidency, Bill Clinton would also develop a close relationship with British Prime Minister Tony Blair (a vice-president of Socialist International), whose “The Third Way: New Politics for the New Century” calling for “ethical socialism” was published in September 1998 by the Fabian (Socialist) Society. And in The Washington Post (April 7, 1999), Rhodes scholar E.J. Dionne, Jr. wrote “A World Safe for Socialism,” describing how the Democratic Leadership Council “found itself playing host… to four Western European leaders whose parties have socialist and social democratic roots…. All subscribe to versions of the ‘Third Way’ approach to politics that Blair and Clinton have been marketing.”

When Bill Clinton was first campaigning for the presidency, he took a “tough” stand concerning policy toward Communist China. However, over the years of his presidency, his policies toward that nation took a dramatically more friendly shift. On ABC’s “This Week” (March 15, 1997), Rhodes scholar and former Clinton administration communications director George Stephanopoulos (CFR member) revealed: “There were a lot of reasons the president changed his policy on China…. It had little to do with [Chinese] contributions.” And when Cokie Roberts on the same program, said, “It had more to do with American money,” Stephanopoulos replied: “Council on Foreign Relations, Lehman Brothers, Goldman-Sachs, absolutely.” Quite a few Rhodes scholars have occupied high-level positions with Goldman-Sachs over the years.

At this point, someone might say that they understand that Cecil Rhodes had a secret society to take over the world, and that Rhodes scholars like Robert Reich, Ira Magaziner, James Woolsey and others played important roles in the Clinton Administration. But, they might say, “That’s all over, isn’t it, now that Clinton has left office?”

It’s important to remember, though, in this regard what Prof. Quigley said in Tragedy and Hope. He noted that William C. Whitney and others of wealth in the late 19th century developed a plan whereby they would control both major political parties through financial contributions, and then have those parties alternate power so that the public would think it had a choice. Prof. Quigley said that Whitney’s plan lasted about 16 years, and after that, the “Eastern Establishment” (power elite) moved the Democrat and Republican presidential candidates toward the political center, “assiduously fostering the process behind the scenes.” Prof. Quigley also said, “the process was concealed, as much as possible,” and Quigley himself believed “the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can ‘throw the rascals out’ at any election without leading to any profound or e
